Where do I find MacLean's Room Creator 2?
Haven't had this problem in a while but I can't locate the models of this product. I can find the materials and the poses, but no models. They installed in a runtime file but I can't find a runtime folder in my content library. Any ideas? I can't quite figure out is this product is a series of models or some sort of plugin. There is a "toolbar" folder with lots of scripts in it. Tutorial isn't much help either.

In your content library, you should see an option for "Poser Format" items underneath the "Daz Studio Format" items. Under that, there should be an option for "Figures" (or possibly "Character"; my computer is rendering right now, and I can't look at Studio to see). Under Figures/Characters, scroll down until you see "Maclean".
If you're not seeing a Poser Format option, you may not have told the content manager where to find your Poser format items. There's a page with some (extremely brief and terse) directions on the wiki to show how to add the path.
The product is a series of models; the scripts add the toolbar to your Studio interface, among other things.
There are 2 versions of Room Creator - a DAZ Studio installer and a Poser installer. As well as the Tutorial, there's also a Help File which lists all the files and locations. I'm not 100% sure where the DAZ installer puts that, but it may be in ReadMes or Support.
The file locations are as follows.
DAZ Studio files
DAZ Studio/Maclean/Room Creator/Room Creator 2/Models
DAZ Studio/Maclean/Room Creator/Room Creator 2/Presets Materials
DAZ Studio/Maclean/Room Creator/Room Creator 2/Presets Poses
DAZ Studio/Maclean/Room Creator/Room Creator 2/Toolbar
Poser files
Models - Poser/Figures/Maclean/Room Creator/Room Creator 2
Poses - Poser/Poses/Maclean/Room Creator/Room Creator 2
Props - Poser/Props/Maclean/Room Creator/Room Creator 2
Materials - Poser/Materials/Maclean/Room Creator/Room Creator 2

Thanks for the help. I'm using Daz not Poser. So I expected to find this content in the smart content folder under Environment /Architecture/Interior. That's where a similar product "Creat a room" is located. But Room Creator isn't there. Oddly enough under Materials/Architecture I do find the icons for both the interior and exterior "Studio CF" (not sure what CF stands for). Opening these icons just gives the great list of materials, but nothing to attach them to. Further clicking about did result in finding the Room Creator Exterior in Content Library/ Products/ R. Revealing that in the Smart Content panel brought up the models, though I have no idea where they are stored in Smart Content.
But I'm exploring the product and working through the tutorial.
"CF" is for Companon File. For example V4 items are provided in Poser format, and you can have a "Studio CF" zip with DS materials. And in the same way, Genesis or G2 items are provided in DS format and can have a "Poser CF" zip with files to use the content in Poser.
Thanks. So "companion file" is a way to indicate a Daz version of a Poser file or vice versa?
The Poser files for Room Creator will all load with the correct materials in DAZ Studio. If you look in the folders in Windows Explorer, you'll see there are 3 for each file - a Poser file, a .png and a .dsa. The .dsa isn't seen by Poser, but DAZ Studio recognises it and reads the correct material values from it, rather than reading them from the Poser file.
As far as Smart Content goes, I'm not sure where they should be. DAZ do that at their end when we submit products, and since I don't use Smart Content, I've never seen where they end up. The only thing I can suggest is to change to tree view and look in the folders I listed above. Then I *think* you can add them to Categories yourself.
Sorry if this is such a pain. No one's ever asked me about it before, so I don't have a ready answer.
Thanks. I'll try that tree view to see if I can trace the items back to their location. I can locate them by doing a "reveal in smart content" but it's hit or miss. The tutorial describes the use of a tool bar. How is that installed? I'm on a Mac so perhaps that was a PC option?
The Toolbar folder has an 'Add Toolbar' preset. Double-click that and it should install it. I don't think it's any different for the Mac. If you don't see a new toolbar appear, try closing DS and re-opening it. There was a glitch at one point where it didn't appear immediately due to a change in DS scripting, but that was fixed in the update.
Got that working. On my system the toolbar icons are so dark that they blend right into the background color...all save for the icon that looks like a half-closed eye.
The icons are black on a transparent background, so you must have a near-black UI. If you have Photoshop, you could open the icons (the .pngs inside the toolbar folder) and invert them to white so they show up.
