Moved to New Users Help forum since it seems to be a question - though I'm not sure what UO and RunUO are, I'm afraid.
...from fast googling: UO -> Ultima Online
but to be frank, i doubt Daz 3D programs can be helpful with UO modding, designing and the like. I guess some more 'open' software and hopefully already connected in some way with the UO community would be more helpful. Never played UO myself, so i can't help much, but probably, from what i just saw through google jumping, UO Architect should be what you need for your projects.
I have worked with Architect and It falls short at this point I am even thinking on a different Game engine. My most fun has always been exploring different lands, both in games and life. I cant do it in life anymore so I'm sorta doing it in game.
Hi escat1, and welcome to the forum!
2D fantasy mapping is kind of off-topic for this forum, but it's something I'm also interested in. Personally I've found The Cartographers' Guild to be a great resource (many users share their maps there and talk about what software they used, etc.).
Hope you enjoy experimenting with DAZ 3D software, though I have no idea to what extent it will help you make stuff for UO. You can certainly use Bryce or Carrara to make your own terrains. And the Genesis figure (that comes free with DAZ Studio) can be used to create all sorts of monsters, either by mixing morphs in DAZ Studio itself, or by taking the figure into a modeling program like Hexagon and sculpting it into something new. Again, not sure whether it's possible to take your resulting creations into UO, let alone how to go about it.
If you do plan on exporting a 3D mesh and using it in a video game, be sure to read the End User License Agreement to find out what is or is not allowed.
Thanks for the help,I will look at those.
