how to smart attach a prop to an accessory?

Hi!

I've bought both the Tactical Belts for Genesis 3 and 8 Female(s) and the Venom Death Kit for Genesis 3 and 8, and I'm attempting to put the right holster on the Thigh Belt 1, but parenting and fitting to the belt just put the holster in the center of her hips. Am I missing something here?

The following pic is from the store page for the Tactical Belts.

This is a partial screenshot showing what I'm getting in the model. You can see where the holster is by its highlight.

Thank you for your help!

It's the "fit to" that's causing your problem. Just position the holster where you want it in relation to the belt, then parent the holster to the belt. They will move to gether. Although you may need to adjust the holster a bit once you pose the character because it probably won't follow the movement of her thigh. But at least it will be in the right position relative to the belt.

Jonny is on track.........  Also try to parent to Pelvis belt, opposed to Thighbelt 1.

Thank you both, but if I may ask, AJ, why the pelvis belt and not Thighbelt 1?

Ok, using this as a start and having discovered that you can parent objects together then save them and merge that file into another, I found that I could first "holster" the fully tricked out gun (parent the gun to the holster using the base gun in the holster as a guide, then making it infisible). Then I started another file and positioned and parented the filled holster to the Right Thigh Bend of the ThighBelt1. The Fit funtion of the belt fit it perfectly on the body as seen in the following image:
