Daz loading wrong base figure with saved figure and morphs

Hi, this is strange but its consistently happening.  Basically, I used M6 HD and created a bunch of morphs on a character.  Saved the result, closed down.  Later when opening the character it opens with the morphs but it was really odd and I knew something wasn't familiar and then I noticed it wasn't M6 at all, Daz 3d used a different Male base figure when it opened and so the morphs while there looked like carp.  I had saved the morphs as a shaping preset so I loaded another M6 and applied the shape preset and I was correct, the morphs on the M6 created an entirely different looking figure than the one that loaded when I opened the project so I zero'd the one that had opened and it was a different basic male.

I have no idea what the hell, but it has now happened to me more than 5 times with this figure.  I began with Michael 6 HD, I save and load and it Daz is opening the morphs onto a basic G2 Male.  I have tested this and loaded a M6 and added my shaping preset, then loaded a G2 basic male and loaded the same shape preset which look bad on G2 male if I must say.  Then zero'd them both and the loaded M6 zero'd to M6, the G2 male restored looked like a G2 Male, then I zero'd my eff'd up figure that loaded wrong and it was G2 male, I loaded my UV's onto the new G2 male and I had twins.

Has anyone ever experienced this?  It is becoming really frustrating setting up props ie, clothing and accessories and having to remap the UV's... I have brushed the M6 UV's and created a new set for the figure... now, to get around the setting up props I did just create a null and then parented them in place to the null with a pose that I can use on the M6 figure when I load it in to fix Daz's mix up in base figures, but I still have to load new UV's each time for the edits I made to appear.

Good grief.

So, if you load a plain Michael 6 HD and save as a scene or scene subset does that forget to apply the Michael 6 shape on reload? Michael 6 is just a form of the Genesis 2 Male

Hi, no.  Only if I have made morph changes.  In fact, it happened yet again, so I took a pic of my post morphs M6 HD, and then the ugly farking thing that loaded when Studio was playing its nonsense.  But, I have wised up and am onto Daz... so, what I did first was that I aligned all of the props and things I made and saved a pose preset and M6 with the new UV Set I made (tatted), I spent a lot of time in Gimp applying these to the UV, and body piercings which are only made from the primitives and I parented them in place using a node and saved the rigged props as a subset aligned to the pose I made.

I saved a UV tatted and pre-mapped M6 but I'm giving up on HD and went to regular M6 and saved his tatted figure without the morphs.  I'm tired of mapping over and over, applying my saved shape preset and then having to adjust accessories.  This is getting to be pretty irritating.

What the model looked like, for at least 3-4 times that I saved and reloaded because I had to step away:

And this is what it turned it to randomly when I maybe had re-opened it for the 5th or 6th time and this has been happening constantly, I have even started a new file and done everything over from scratch several times.  If I wasn't so stubborn I would give up on it altogether.  I'm beginning to lose faith in the software which is pretty sad given I'm just starting to really get under the hood and learn how to use it well.

So, every time Daz would do its swap it was for the G2 male and the figure looked like someone bred 5 generations of first cousins.

I can confirm that it just happened with M6, also.  So not just HD.  But, I had a eureka moment and thought that if M6 and M6HD are based on G2 then maybe he is losing the M6 morphs but keeping mine, so I dropped in an M6HD, did a shape preset of him.  I applied the shape preset to my effed up figure and it sure enough went from that ugly mess above into M6 with my UV's, and then I just applied my figures shape preset and it became that other handsome dude in the first post.

So, case solved at least a solution was discovered.  And now I am going to just keep each standard figures shape in a preset file in case I see something like this happen again.  I know it will happen again with this figure but at least now I'm 2 clicks away from fixing it.  Now, I just want my lost time back and a million dollars ;)

Wow, I just discovered 2 more things that I should have learned by "reading the manual".  I mean common, who reads the manual...   Wearables preset... and Hierarchical Material preset.  So, I saved both, and now I'm so happy, and excited about Daz again, this means I can one click setup the UV Maps and one click all of the accessories, total time saver.  Thanks for noticing my thread, even if we didn't have the reason why, I learned about literally many things in this process that will make life easy.
