Both Sky and Mikasa are in wishlist jail right now, so no renders for me, but here is one of Dior.
she fits right in here looks natural
oh btw Mousso released another gal today to add to your wishlist Moriah
This is lovely!
Mikasa's promos look absolutely stunning... I'm gonna get her eventually for sure. I'll have to wait until she goes on sale though.
we often get really good sales deals for Mousso's characters
I noticed that Mikasa isn't a DAZ original, I wonder if that will affect how frequent/good the sales on her are. We'll have to see...
You know, there is only one problem with this image of Dior. She doesn't look scruffy like the people in the background. Otherwise.. simply gorgeous.
Regards,
Richard.
Well her name is Dior, so I would think she would be a bit fashionable when she is out. Here are a couple of Izanami images.
like this one too
I don't think so there are few that are not DO's most do well I think
I picked up Fan Ling awhile back, but have never done any renders with her, so here are two. I really like this character.
nice Fang. Yeah I have a ton of stuff I haven't used or very much
Here is a render of Shangrila. Color graded in post to get the overall "silver" look.
This one is of Nicole.
More free time to render so here is a render of Ysabel for Zelara 8.
looking good
Thanks. It looks like I have a workflow down for rendering these out in under an hour on my GTX 1060 as long as I use an HDRI. If I use a scene, then they take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours.
So here is Marianne (a longer render).
Mind sharing that workflow?
I have a GTX 1060 as well, and I've never gotten anything decent pumped out within an hour lol
I usually let them run overnight, and then see if they're up to par by the morning (which often times leads to me letting it run while I'm at work as well, so about 20 hours lol). Maybe I overdo it on the pixel radius and just overall size of the image lol
For instance, I have a scene rendering now. In it is one Genesis 8 Female figure (Sub-D set at 4), hair, eyelashes, brows, and a single plane with a paint shader applied. It's lit by an HDRI, and a single spotlight. I'm currently 2 hours 33 minutes in, 429 iterations.
Now, mind you, it's rendering at 2000x1333, pixel radius set to 1.
I agree with Thyranq your getting some good quality renders. Some of my renders can take awhile too I have 2 1080GTX on mine been doing a simple one of Mikasa in a simple scene got her cranked up to 5, all post denoisers active and render quality 5, but still getting lots of noise can't fix in post used the scene prop product before but not this specific scene set maybe that or the products camera, tried adding anothers lights try another camera
Hmm. Sonja looks interesting.
Hmm. Wallet looks a bit empty.
Hrrumph.
If your a PC+ member and you haven't used your $6 off Daz Original coupon you can use that as she is also a Daz Original
had some trouble with noise on this one rerendered several times replaced lights camera adjust settings managed to fix bit in post maybe it's the set/scene used her in few renders fine none can post here but elsewhere been doing a lot of those lately ;)
Mikasa pinup

Not a PC+ member. PC+ membership was only fractionally less than my rolling 1 year spend when I last looked. Can't really justify the price with what I get, and it'd probably increase my spend - which is already a significant part (45%) of my discretionary spend throughout the year - and I do have other hobbies like pen making and model engineering. Do sometimes feel as if I'm trying to get a quart out of a pint pot.
Here's the aforementioned render. Let it cook overnight, so in total about 11 hours rendering time, reached 2000 iterations and I shut it down, looked good enough to me.
Used Romina (again), but added a slightly altered version of Kala 8's makeup overlay + some LIE liners for the eye makeup, and an overlay colour on the lips. Swapped the HD details that came with Romina for the ones from Kala to help make the eyeshadow pop a bit more.
Here's the gallery link for the full res version.
My first observations is the pixel radius and SubD at 4 may be the issue. However, I only use iterations as the limit and if I set this to 2,000 (my typical uppermost bound), this would be roughly an 11.5 hour render. My longest render so far was around 15 hours that went to CPU due to the number of characters in it.
Using the Ysabel image as an example, which is the same for the other renders using the HDRI's, here are some of the things I do. First and foremost, I should note hair resolution. I bought a couple new hairs recently that I just cannot use. While they look great, they are about 1GB in size and with my card, they always go to CPU renders. For some reason anything slighting over 3 GB in VRAM goes to CPU, so I target that limit.
The key things I have done for this scene are:
1. Character SubD 2, I never go to 3 or 4 for any characters anymore, that just pushes the render time out or goes to CPU.
2. Hair Mesh Resolution set to Base. In addition, I have gone back to using older hairs, typically those for both G3 and G8, as they are not dforce or strand based. At one time I was adding a SubD modifier to hair that did not have it and going to high resolution and SubD 2 with soft edges, but have abandoned that for faster renders.
3. Using HDRI's (this one was Venice Sunrise from HDRI Haven), but only use the 4k versions.
4. Render settings, I don't use either the time or render quality parameters, only iterations. I have found that typically 1,000 to 2,000 iterations is enough. Pixel radius is never set lower than 1.2 and I use Mitchell.
5. Typically, I use 3,000 pix for the longest dimesion for the aspect ratio, except when using 16:9, that is 2,560. Most of my renders now are 4:3, 3:2, 2:3, 1:1, or Golden Ratio.
6. Denoising. I have it on in Daz, but recently have left it off and denoising post with Intel's denoiser. I haven't tried setting the Max Path Length setting to something around 10 to see if it would speed up a render.
My hardward and software:
CPU i5-8400 2.8GHz | GPU GTX 1060 6 GB | 48 GB RAM | Windows 10 Home Version 1909
Daz Studio Pro 4.12.1.117 | Nvidia Driver 442.92
Scene Settings:
Character SubD 2 | Hair Mesh Resolution Base, Render SubD 1
Lighting HDRI 4k Venice Sunrise | 4 Emissive Planes for key and fill lighting
Aspect Ratio 1:1, 3,000 x 3,000
Render Settings:
Max Samples 1,500 | Max Time 0 | Render Quality Off | Post Denoiser Enable On | Post Denoiser Start Iteration 1,300
Spectral Rendering Enable On | Spectral Conversion Intent Natural | Spectral Observer cie1964
Tone Mapping Burn Highlights 0.07 | Crush Blacks 0.002 | All other settings default
Environment Map Venice Sunrise 4k | Dome and Scene | Infinite Sphere | Dome Rotation 280 | All other settings default
This scene below took roughly 40 minutes. The other scenes that I did that did not use an HDRI, but scene props and lighting, took between 2.5 to 5 hours.
interesting combo Thyranq, she looks like a typical tourist Sisyphus1977
probably get into trouble for this here's Sonja in Bad Date Night 4
https://www.daz3d.com/gallery/#images/1046501
I probably should have tagged her too. The character is Raquel.
Here I tried Romina with Venice sunrise 16k with default render settings. Rendering took 3 min 38 sec.
4-5 mins is more like the times I'd be expecting for a system with 1/3 the RAM of sisyphus, a marginally quicker Xeon processor and the same graphics card on Win7. Got a 451.something games driver and DS4.12 downloaded 2 weeks ago. 40 mins is a fair time, but I do render at 1900*1200 ish.
