Noob Rendering Question

Been playing with this for about 2 weeks. My question is when rending the loading bar will get to 75% in 45 min's or so (@ 4k) then takes another hour or so to finish, why?

Iray render never truly "Finish". They are cut off by settings in your "progressive" tab.  You can simply stop them when they look good enough.

For a 3600x3600 image, I need anywhere between a few minutes to 8 hours to "finish" a render. The final few percent in the convergence can take longer, too. That often depends on the scene.
