Some content has disappeared from smart content

Since upgrading to 4.6 I have noticed that some of my content isn't there anymore
I can load an old 4.0 file with the items and they show up and work fine.
If I save it in 4.6 then open it I get errors that it can't be found.
The data is still there under the
\data\4_0_2
directory.
Can someone help get to find the files again?

Where is your content folder, and what is your operating system? Can you go to Edit>Preferences>Directories>Content Directory Manager, expand both the "DS Formats" and "Poser Formats" sections, and post a screenshot?

You shouldn't have all the subfolders of My Library listed -- that could be the reason files aren't being found.

    Ok...
    Which one's should I remove?

You need to remove all of the ones that go further than 'My Library'

There is no need at all to have My Library/Aniblocks or My Library/backgrounds for example, they are covered by the first My Library entry. There is no need at all to list sub-folders of My Library, and they serve no useful purpose.

    Ok.
I clear out all the others that it looks like the attached, but the items still aren't showing up.
Do I need to reset the database, then re-import all the metadata files?

    You have nothing selected!

Click on All or Default, and you will see the word 'Searching...' to the right of the search box.

I have done that and the missing items are still not there.

    Is there anything there?

Is the CMS (Content Management Service) running, check in the Windows Task manager. If it is not running, go to Start > All programs > DAZ 3D, and try to restart it from there.

About half of the items are missing. All of the missing ones were manual installs before they brought out the DIM. CMS is running.

Go to the Content Library pane, and see if your content is there.

If it is there, use the drop down menu on the Content Library pane (looks like little lines with a triangle), and select Content DB Maintenance > Reimport Metadata.

They are in the Content Library pane. I reimported the metadata but it didn't work

    I don't know why that wouldn't work.

The only other thing that I can suggest, is to use the DIM to reinstall all of the missing items, that way, the Metadata will be written into the database directly.

Yes, you could try that first.

If it doesn't work, I think the only thing is to reinstall because it looks like the Metadata isn't there to begin with.

The odd thing is, all the missing files are in this folder
    C:\Users\ddw\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\data\4_0_2

Are you saying you are trying to load an item and it says the data files are missing? Items in the data folder won't show up at all inside DS -- they are supporting files which aren't accessed directly. What items are missing?

I tried reinstalling one of the missing ones and that fixed it. Most of the missing ones are for V5.
