Help Editing A PP2 File

Can someone tell me how to edit a PP2 file? I've tried googling this and all I keep finding is details about opening it in a base text editor and then apparently modifying the individual coordinate values. The thought of which just blows my mind. There's got to be a way to use Hexagon, Wings3d, etc to do it right?

Not sure what kind of editing you want to do but you can always open it in DS and either File->Send to Hexagon or export it as a .obj file.

Are you Sure you wish to Edit the PP2? The PP2 is in most cases just a Loader file, if you Wish to EDIT the item the PP2 loads you can just SEND TO HEX from DS. Or Save as Object File and the Load the obj in any Editor Like Hex or Blender.

PP2 is a poser prop so the mesh is in poser format. I'm not aware of any modeling app that can open a PP2, and I doubt seriously you'll find one that can save as PP2.

It Depends on the PP2. Many of the newer ones only CALL a real Mesh file. Many of the Older ones have the Mesh embedded in the PP2. You can Save out the Object once loaded to any program that Loads it if the program has the option to save as obj. You can then edit the PP2 paths to load the new edited file and not load the embedded file. Of course you MIGHT break the UV if you do that.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. In the end I went with Sisca's recommendation and just exported it as an object file.
