Hello DAZ team!
My name is Anderson Soares, known in the community Renderosity.com as Gendragon. My freebies are very well accepted and there has even been commented here! :-)
My reason for contact, is that recently, I was preparing a product for freebie in DAZ Studio 4.6 Pro, and tried to create support files in the "My Library", to facilitate the user after copying the content and can view it in "Smart Content Products". Moments after creating a script when you click the right mouse button on the icon of the freebie, seen in the "Content Library" -> Products.
There arose an option to create a script to support (DSA).
I created this script and then clicked on the run button, it was then that for some reason, after I closed the DAZ Studio 4.6 Pro and then immediately restarted, and to my surprise, everything that was in the "Smart Content Products", disappeared !
Today I can only see, something in the "Content Library".
Note: I've done all the procedures explained in the forum, since reinstalling the application and updates the shapes "morphs" evolution body, face, characters, V3, V4, A3, A4, H3, H4, F3, F4, S3, S4 , Axel etc..
From what I understand, the metadata is corrupted, and had not backed up at the moment. I am communicating this because I realized that other people are having the same problem, every time a new product is launched into the application, especially the older ones, it is obvious, will not appear in Smart Content Products, because they were made before the creation of "Smart Contents".
I'm hoping for a new update for this because I'm used to the "Smart Contents" to locate more quickly to my library.
Cheers and thank you for making the DAZ Studio free software.
Sorry my Inglês! :-)

The problem that you have, appears to be that the CMS (Content Management Service) is not running, I can see that by the lack of little triangles opposite the names Products and Categories (unlike DAZ Studio Formats and Poser Formats)

CMS runs as a process in Windows, and should appear in the Processes tab in the Task Manager. If it is not running, you need to go to Start > All Programs > DAZ 3D and start it from there.

CMS runs the Smart Content pane, Products, Categories and the search function in the Content Library pane, so it needs to be a running process. See if that helps.

    Hello Jimmy C_2009!
    Thanks for the quick reply!
As was written above, I've tried everything!
Unfortunately, nothing has given results so far.
This problem has happened several times and always managed to solve it using all the tips in the forum, but this time, it seems to be out of my reach.
Hopefully in the near future have a solution for this, the next release of DAZ Studio!
    Again thanks for the support!

I just wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you so much Anderson for all your great freebies.
Secondly, I need to say I'm having the same problem. I will try what Jimmy stated but this was not a problem before I downloaded the new 4.6 Pro version of Daz3d.

To the best of my knowledge, the CMS is part of the main install of DAZ Studio (any version 4.x), but if it already exists, it wont be replaced by the latest version. In order to install the latest version of CMS, it is necessary to uninstall CMS first from the Start menu, then re-install DAZ Studio.

There could also be problems with a corrupt database which is preventing CMS from working properly. The only cure that I know for that, is to move (or delete) the current database files, then restart DAZ Studio which will recreate them. You then need to reimport all of your Metadata files as well. This is simple enough if you don't have any Categories or Products that you created yourself, because they will not be redone.

You would need to have a saved version of your own Categories, and reload that in the same way as the Metadata files. I had to do it with mine a few weeks ago, but it worked well, and I haven't had any problems since.

I think I know what's wrong with DIM for me. I have Windows 64 bit. The DIM is only 32bit. I'm going to look and see if I can find a 64bit install for the DIM but if I can't I'm stuck. In addition I uninstalled CMS but if I have to install all the products again by hand I don't know if I'm going to go through all that. I have tons of products and to have to download them all by hand is just not worth it if I can still used the products. I'll just have to search and search to find them.

DIM is only 64-bit -- it doesn't handle enough data to need to be 64-bit. It works fine on 64-bit Windows.

What exactly is your problem -- DIM is unconnected to CMS except insofar as it will install CMS when you install DIM if CMS isn't already installed.

My problem is I can't get any of my Content to show up in the Smart Content tab even through I can find them in the DAZ Library Folders. I was told to uninstall the CMS and reinstall it through reinstalling DAZ Studio 4.6. If it doesn't work, I needed to add all my content again. I don't want to download all the products I have by hand as I've had to do with each product because DIM doesn't work for me. It doesn't install all the files. I discussed this with Jimmy in another thread as well. I discovered this when I had to call support to find out why the products I downloaded with DIM didn't work. They helps me find the files that were missing. So that's my problem. In addition the search in Daz for products doesn't work and I was told it's the CMS that needs to be fixed. I had already tried "starting" the CMS in the start menu and that didn't work.

DIM may only be 64bit but when you go to the download page for it, it only shows 32bit for windows.

    Thank you all!
I could not restore the contents of DAZ, and how I can still see them in "Content Library" manually, I'd better leave it as is for now unfortunately! :-(
As for freebies, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Were made of heart for all the community. It was inevitable when I tried to create a script to support my freebies work properly in DAZ Studio and could automatically load the "Smart Content Products". When I tried to do this, the entire library was gone.
I'll do the freebies in the "obj" to import DAZ, the model freebie which I refer would be in this sample image: (I'll let the forum in session free materials, when finished.
Cheers to all and thanks again!

Mike made I bit of a typo in his last post. DIM is ONLY 32 bit, there is no 64 bit version, because there doesn't need to be, 32 bits is more than enough for it to function correctly on both 32 bit and 64 bit Operating Systems.

DIM should work on any 64 bit system, I use it almost on a daily basis on Win 7 with no problems at all. If Support helped you with a download which did not have the correct files in the folder, that is a different matter. I have nearly 2,000 items downloaded and installed with DIM, and I have had very few problems.

My problem is I can’t get any of my Content to show up in the Smart Content tab even through I can find them in the DAZ Library Folders. I was told to uninstall the CMS and reinstall it through reinstalling DAZ Studio 4.6. If it doesn’t work, I needed to add all my content again

You do NOT need to add your content again, just the Metadata, leave the content where it is. If you cannot get CMS to run, then Smart Content will not work at all.

You have tried to start CMS from the Start menu, and it does not start? Have you checked in the Task Manager for Windows to see if it is running?

If you have tried all of the above, the only thing I can think of, is that the database files have become corrupted, and they would need to be redone. As I already explained, if you do not have any Categories that you have set up your self, or any other customisation of the data, then you can just replace these files. There is absolutely no need to redownload and install content, it will be fine where it is.

If you could go to the Content Directory Manager, and post a screenshot of the expanded listings for both DAZ Studio Formats and Poser Formats, that may be a help. Can you also post a screenshot of your interface showing the Content Library pane too please?

    EDIT:
    Sorry gedonia, Cross Post

Thanks Jimmy. I will try but right now I'm very frustrated and when I get that way I have to step back and let myself relax a bit before trying again. I will try this in the next day or so and reply back. Thanks again.

Thanks Anderson aka gedonia for starting this tread. My Smart Content is now working. Hurray!!! Apparently I needed to uninstall CM and reinstall DAZ Studio because the Start CM didn't work. Either way I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth so I'm happy. Thanks all for the help.

gedonia Jimmy asked for a screenshot of the Content Library Pane (Not Smart Content or Metadata)

If you don't have a Content library Pane open then you can open it Via the top menu Window > Panes (Tabs) > Content Library

Excuse me, but how and where do I find these metadata to delete them?
By chance is the "data" directory, which is inside the "My Library"?
I've reinstalled DAZ Studio, ContentManagementServer after uninstalling them.
In the "Task Manager" windows is showing the functioning of "DAZ Content Management Service", but still not loading the products, re-import the metadata.
    Regards!

    Hello Scott-Livingston!
    Thanks for the link!
One question, "Backup your databases folder", refers to the way DAZ 3D/Studio/My Library / date (?)
It's just what I need to know to continue instruction.
If not, where do I find the folder?
    Thank you again!

Not that one. Where the database folder is will depend on your OS...more information is available in that same thread...keep reading the next few posts after the one I linked to.

(by the way, thanks for your freebies!)

    Hello Scott-Livingston!
    Glad you enjoyed my freebies!
I'm trying to create these products in the DAZ Studio models so that the user can easily locate them in Smart Content Products, after you copy them into the My Library folder.
By the way, my system is Windows 8-64 Bits

I have a 64-bit Win8 machine myself, but unfortunately I'm away from home at the moment, and I don't know offhand where the database folder is. I'll take a look this evening and let you know, if you haven't solved it by that time.

The default location in Windows 7 is: C:\ProgramData\DAZ 3D\Content Management Service\databases
It may be the same for Win8, but I'm not sure.

Hello Scott-Livingston! Hello to all who have helped me in one thing that he believed there was no solution!
Thanks to the goodwill of you, I could recover again all content listed on CMS.
When I started posting my freebies in early 2007, in communities such as the extinct 3DCommune "Mark Weiger" in ShareCG and Renderosity, many people asked me, why I did not sell those freebies that pleased many people.
The answer is simple and straightforward; When I decided to stop selling my products and started donating them without worrying about what they would receive in return
without realizing it, without realizing, I noticed that people kind and pure heart, began to follow me and offer help for any questions I had or even tons of tips, insentivo and many other things that no money could buy, like friendship, affection and solidarity.
For this and other reasons that every day that passes I only wish one thing, I have health and creativity to continue to post my freebies for you all! My thanks to everyone who helped me to solve this problem of DAZ Studio.

There are many users who are having the same problem in the community Renderosity. I will post a message to them on this post.
One suggestion: It would be great if this support was tied to the bank's help DAZ Studio!

    Cheers!!
