Required Products?

Hi, total newbie here, just wanting to get into a new hobby, so I apologies for that. I downloaded and install Daz3D just yesterday and playing around with the editing software abit and see what I can do, and I'm quite getting the hang of it, not really of course. Anyhow, I wanted to create a wallpaper and such and I'm thinking of purchasing the "Medusa Bundle" https://www.daz3d.com/medusa-bundle and just by looking at the description and stuff, I noticed the "requirement products" do I have to get those required products in order to actually have Medusa installed or something? Just putting the Medusa Bundle in the cart and all the required products together, the total is going to cost me $200 CAD, and honestly, if that's true, I would honestly won't be spending time playing around with the Daz3D software anymore and move on to a new hobby.
I just wanted Medusa herself basically is what I'm saying.

That's an older set, and the Victoria 4 base is no longer free (I don't think you absolutely need the other two shapes - at worst the character will not look quite as intended without them). The clothes from https://www.daz3d.com/medusa-v4 would convert via AutoFit to Genesis, and then from Genesis could be converted to Genesis 2 Female or Genesis 8 - and the hair could probably just be parented to another figuer's head without any conversion. https://www.daz3d.com/the-gorgon-medusa is a character and is much more closely tied to the figure it was made for, though the textures could be used with Genesis or with Genesis 2 Female via an add-on - the shapes could be converted, but that requires more tools. Since these are older sets the materials would almost certainly need some adjustments, especially for use in Iray (the default Daz Studio render engine).
Please keep in mind that quite a few hobby users have $1000's of dollers invested in Daz Studio content. If $200 is to much for your spending habits, might be better to avoid the store that often and hang out in the freebie thread on the forums. You can do alot in DS without spending much, but it takes work and some knowledge of modeling, the program and how to get things to work like you want
I don't know much about the whole Victoria 4 and Genesis thing yet but I get what you're saying tho. And so are you saying that I can just purchase one of the 2 links/products you gave me? I just fear that if I bought one of the products, the software won't install the model I wanted and now I'm required to purchase more stuff in order to get the model correctly. Wanting to start off cheap and slow.
You could use the hair and clothing from Medusa V4, I think. The add-on textures would work, at least as textures. The Gorgon Medusa, however, while not totally unusable (you could make the Geensis skin look the same) would be of less than full use as the shaping would not work (and the textures couldn't be used on the more recent Genesis versions without non-free add-ons).
So basically, if I just bought the Medusa V4, it would install into the software easily and simple? I just really needed the snake hair and clothing without being stopped by some popped up message probably saying "You do not have the requirements in order to work" because that scares me when I bought a game that requires me to download some other stuff I don't even know in order for my game to work.
You'll need this: https://www.daz3d.com/medusa-v4
When you want to use it with a figure other than the one it ws designed for, you best load it into the scene without having your figure selectd in the scene tab. You'd then move it into position and scale (or use whatever morphs are available inside of the hair) to make it fit to the head. Then, use "Parent to" NOT Fit to!, and parent it "in place" to the head.
This will keep the bones in the hair alive.
If you render in Iray, you'll also might want to change the surface to Iray.
I don't know which of the figures you want to use, but there's also this Medusa hair: https://www.daz3d.com/medusa-s-serpent-hair

I have the same question regarding Melody for Rynne 8. If I just buy that, but not Rynne 8, would it not work?
