No Potting Shed nor garden studio but poses work-go figure! RESOLVED
Help please, I have Potting Shed & Tools, Garden Studio and Garden Shed Poses- Windows 7 Daz 4.6 i have lots of props and have been working well without too many hiccups- but these two although the images show in content library there is a problem: EVERYTHING has been downloaded by DIM - over 1500 files used purely for Daz products - not sure how to resolve this so any help appreciated.

Image one are Material preset hence the extenstion .ds
However the rest shows a problem indeed.
Have you Installed the Poser files?
The Pser CR2 files will show up in the Content Library under Poser Formats > My Library (or what ever your content folder is called) > Figures Or Props > See if the CR2 will load.
You are trying to load the Garden Shed MATs without having first loaded the Shed. Go to Poser Formats > My Library > Figures > ShedTools.
EDIT: Oops, Szark - you beat me to it!
I know they are mat files i was showing them just to show what i had lol- there are no poser files, this is what DIM sent me, so i need to know how to get the correct files via DIM i tried uninstall via dim and then reinstall but the same thing happens- no poser files -bare in mind i have a real newbie brain so go easy huh
What are your DIM settings? DIM should Auto select all files needed for it to work in the version of DS you picked. You also should install all files DIM lists, because they will be needed.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOPS i think! I only have Daz 4.5+ checked and no posers (because i don't have poser i probably wrongly assumed that i wouldn't need there files thinking DIM knows what program i have so obvious (to me lol) that it would just download everything i would need........................................SO does this now mean i have to recheck everything and reinstall? oh what fun i shall have;)
No, if you do not have Poser you do not need to tick the Poser box in DIM. But the DAZ files which you downloaded are still located in the Poser Formats folders, because DAZ still uses those formats. So go and have a look in Poser Formats > My Library > Figures > ShedTools. You will probably see the files there even if you don't think you have them!
Cayman is Correct DIM should Auto collect all files needed. If it is not Could you please submit a Support ticket and explain the issue.
Please Check the Poser Formats> section before you do. The content should be there as stated.
EDIT: Note to Cayman, some content does come in only DAZ3D format now, but if both formats are needed DIM should install all the needed content.
Thank you (smile) There are no files in the Poser Library for either of these products so i will send in a support ticket, i appreciate all your help and quick responses - have a great weekend
Hi Hermana5!
If you want to use this product you can always manually install. You'd just have to remember where you put them- you guys correct me if I am wrong- can't she install them manually using the C:users:(name):my documents: daz3d:Studio: My Library (I think I did that right, from memory) and that way she can go ahead and use the files while waiting on the DIM bug to be worked out?
If both files list in the My Products section yes they can. I was over looking that, and just went to it needs fixed for all users. I should have thought further on just this user as well. I'm all red faced now. (well purple, as I'm a drow)
Thanks Novica and Jaderail, but as i will wait for Daz to sort this out as it was a new computer, new dim, new daz so i know i cannot be blamed for any errors lol............i have lots of "wip" files so no rush.....though i hope to hear "noso" an anagram for the dreaded word ;)
Have you tried downloading and installing manually. It is simple enough to do no matter if it comes in the form of an Installer or Zipped. Just as long you install to the correct path you should be ok.
Thanks again everyone it has now been resolved thanks to a very efficient Britney and David from technical depo -
I did submit a support ticket about a product with a problem like this, The Reading Room. With only DAZ selected as the application, DIM did not download the Poser installer. What it did download was only the DAZ materials and not the figures.
The DAZ support person told me to select poser and download the poser installers. I told her this was a good work around, but the DIM/product still needed to be fixed. She insisted nothing was broken. This was just the way it is. For these old products you have to select poser as an application to get the complete product downloaded. She says they are just going to update the readme files for these products.
SORRY (smile) (for potting shed and studio) For some unknown reason DIM only sent me the material files, i did not have Poser ticked in my filters as i do not have Poser so i ticked this then downloaded the poser files via dim and all is as it should be :) this is a quote from tech dept
"a. Potting Shed & Tools: Be sure to run both installers (DAZ Studio and Poser). Back in the day sometimes the Daz Studio installer only contained the Daz Studio materials, and the actual props/actors were in the Poser installer. I can see that this is the case with Potting Shed and Tools.
Once installed you would find the .cr2 for this in the Content Library under.....Poser Formats --> Figures --> Shed Tools"
As for the Balloons to work it is a bit of a joke - quote from tech depo
"This is a strange way to do it, but it works... To change shapes, you'll need to go to the Scene pane, and unfold all the bones until you get to the bottom and click on one called "balloon". You can unfold them fastest by selecting Balloon and hitting the right-arrow button repeatedly. Then in the Parameters tab you would click on General --> Misc, and change the shape in the Shape drop-down button. "
I know a few of you said how to work the potting shed but as i assumed DIM would do everything i really didn't want to mess around and at a later date have to correct something i had done, this laptop relies totally on DIM n DAZ working together without any interference from me (grin) thanks again for taking the time to assist me.
I hear you and thanks for posting that but trust me when I say installing content manually is, for me, the most easiest thngs to do and would have solved the issue from the get go.
