Costume creation: Studio first, or Poser?

in New Users
Morning, all (well, it is here, anyway).
I'm a longtime content creator for Poser, now getting ready to start adding clorhing to my range. I want to make it suitable for the widest range of figures, so this is where I'm hoping for advice:
Model for Genesis figures, then convert for Poser, or the reverse? Which works better?
Thanks.

If you are making clothes for a native DS figure like one of the Genesises then I wold think you'd do the set up in DS, then make Poser Comapinion Files. If looking at other figures, bear in mind that DS can write weight maps to a CR2 but can't read them back again.
For weightmapped figures I would say start in DS: if you do the rigging in DS first you can use the cr2 exporter to have a base for the poser version, whereas if you do the poser weightmapped figure first you'll have to redo the rigging from scratch for the DS version.
Am I correct in assuming no Genesis products will work in Poser?
Thanks
Genesis 1 and 2 can be converted over I think, but starting with Genesis 3, the weight mapping changed and is no longer compatible with Poser. Though I've read that some people got the mesh transferred over.
