And a stupid question about installing third party content

So here's a question that I'm sure is very stupid, but I haven't seen the answer in the forums, or at least didn't understand the answer :-)
I have downloaded a piece of third party content. (I'm working on a Mac, btw) The readme in the file says that to install it, I should "Unzip and copy the data, People, and runtime folders to your "/Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio/My Library" folder." Which is fine, but when I do that I realize there is already a folder marked "data" in the My Library folder. If I try to transfer the data folder from the new product, naturally I'm told that I can one have but not two folders of that name.
So, how do I get this to work ? Without, that is, deleting something improtant?
many thanks in advance.

You need to merge the new foldrs with hte existing folders of the same name - on a Mac that can be fiddly, though i believe there are utilities that will do it. Manually, you'd have to go down through the hierarchy until you found folders (or files in a folder) that weren't already there and then copy those across.
Here's a tutorial that might help you: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/927004/#Comment_927004

For PC's, there is also a utility program called Content Package Assist (CPA) by Doctor Jellybean https://www.daz3d.com/content-package-assist
I use DIM consistently, so I use CPA for all third party content. You have to decide whether disk space is cheap enough to hold onto both the original ZIP/RAR's and also the CPA-created ZIP's.
Sorry, I don't know if someone makes a Mac version.
