Eyelashes? That's wild. @icedragonart   I assume you're testing it with and without them?  I'd also like to know the vendor so I can see if I have any of the characters and also test if I do.

@zombietagerrung  Thanks for showing those! Now all they need is a water sprinkler to keep cool during their playtimes!

Yes, I will be testing as soon as I have a spare moment.  I pm'd you, I really love this vendors characters and don't really want to say anything until I have done some thorough testing on my own.

Understood, I thought that was what you'd do. I will check and PM you back (to let you know if I have any of their characters.)  We'll keep the rest of you in the loop to let you know if it is indeed an issue. :)

I render men and don’t use really use female figures at all... my situation occurred with Owen and Boyd while Boyd was wearing a new outfit. Nothing else had changed. So I am not sure about the  eyebrow product theory but it could be multiple products with the same problem.   I was however able to use the product in another render so it didn’t appear to be that outfit.

Well, I don't have the vendor she's talking about (and it isn't one who sells here, so scratch that off the can-test-for-you list.

Did anyone who got the dog and different breeds try mixing them? I'd love to see what some combos of mutts look like. I'm kind of on the fence with the dog and wish a bunch of breed morphs were built in the original dog...

I've had this happen only once. It completely baffled me and baffled quite a few people I asked who I consider daz experts.  And if I recall I was using a G3F figure and a set of clothing with nothing else in the scene except a hdr light. I've used both the figure and the clothing AND the hdr at other times with no problem.

I have had this happen a few times. I checked and that same scene would render  in 3Delight. I don't know why either, it's like DAZ and Iray stop suddenly communicating .

Like most to get the scene to render I saved it as a subscene et then imported it in a new scene. It worked most of the time.

Curious about the dog... Tempted, but some of the posing looks weird. And where's its hair? Are the models mentioned in fits for the space suit (German Shepherd, etc.) coming anytime soon?

I'm also tempted by the dog, but then I remind myself of how often I've used the Hivewire dog, and the temptation goes away again.

I bought the dog. The little wiener dog is so cute, and looks quite real.

I like the weiner dog too, but sometimes the texture looks plastic to me especially on the big dog.  Is there a way to correct that?

What I'm not liking is the claws are too long and razor sharp on those dogs (but adorable render @spuffy )  I still haven't had time to even try the dogs. For plastic looking hair reduction, try increasing bump and reducing the reflectivity. (That's just a general idea)

I think the average dog has some hair on the toes so the shape of the claws is more noticible.

I didn't buy the dog, having the HW dog already, but some time back I was using the very old Noggin's Cow and updating it to Iray. One thing I did that helped a lot was to use the SSS settings from a human model, (from included Iray skin materials,) on the body of the animal. Of course, I have no idea what the dog materials are using, but the SSS might be a good place to tweak, along with @Novica's suggestions

Also, that is a really cute image!

True, the claws on those dogs look like bear claws!

Is there a morph to make them smaller?

Yes, -100 for longer & +100 for clipped (but they really look shorter, not clipped)

Thank you for the nice comments, Novica and L’Adair.  And thanks, Novica, for the help...I’ll give that a try.  I don’t like the claws either, I figured I’d try removing them in Photoshop, but I’ll for sure use the morph to make them shorter.

my pro tip (heh, pro? lol) of the day is to put the bump map in the glossy reflectivity weight channel. Leave the setting at whatever it is set at for the material you are using. It can cut down on the overall glossy while keeping the sheen

I think I'm going to wait till a future sale for the dog. With 7 dog items in my cart, it comes out to $40.96 (including 20% off banner) which is more than regular bundles and doesn't come with any free bundles or anything else... I guess I could remove two things to keep the discount but I barely used the Millennium Dog and just tried it out now and it really doesn't look that bad in IRay unless you do extreme close-ups and probably can be tweaked more and the texture bumped up in Photoshop and it comes with many breed morphs for it and fur and puppies...

This is the old Millennium Dog. I think it's fine for my purposes. I'm more of a cat person anyway LOL.
