Bridge between Daz Studio and Photoshop not functioning
I have noticed this topic has received a lot of attention in the past and I am hoping for help.
The problem is fundamental. I click the menu item "Initialize Photoshop 3D Bridge", the bridge will not load and provide a popup with a default camera view for photoshop
First the versions:
Daz Studio 4.6 pro (4.6.0.18)
Bridge per the Install Manager: 1.3.0.18
Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended 13.0.1
Running 64 bit Windows 7
Second what appears correct:
I see the Bridge in Daz Studio under menu HELP>>About Installed Plugins and then under node "Daz Studio Pro Plug In Bundle"
I see also in Daz Studio under the menu FILE>>Initialize Photoshop 3D Bridge
Third what appears wrong
I don't see in Photoshop under the menu FILE>>Automate>Daz Studio menu item
The path I have set for the bridge per Installer setting is the following path:
C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Bridge CS6 (64 Bit)/Plug-Ins
Inside the above mentioned Plug Ins folder is a Daz 3D folder with 2 files:
PsDzBridge.8LI
PsDzUpdateScene.8BA
So I have done some homework, but I am totally amiss as to how get my bridge to work between the two applications.
I appreciate any help and information sharing and thank you in advance.

I have nothing helpful to suggest, I'm afraid. I'm unable to install this plugin because the DIM seems unable to install the plugin to work with Photoshop CS3, because it's 32bit and I'm running DS 4.6 64 bit. Sooo...it's a pickle.
Ok, I know this works as I have the exact same setup as you.
Are you running Daz Studio 64bit, and is the bridge you installed the 64bit version? All 3 need to be the same bit to work properly.
Also, I downloaded/installed my bridge using the installer version and not DIM as I did it before it was added to DIM. You may want to try this method. If the separate exe installer works, then there is an issue with installing via DIM.
If you want to try this method, uninstall the bridge via DIM, and go into My Account > Product Library, filter for 'bridge' and download Photoshop 3D Bridge for DAZ Studio 4.5+ (Win 64-bit) using the blue 'download' button.
Yes. Both DS and Photoshop need to be the same bit for the bridge to work properly. Do you have access to the 64bit version of CS3?
Thank you Vaskania.
I made some major progress using your steps installation execution.
I can now see Daz Studio menu item in photoshop and I get the popup in photoshop associated with Daz Studio. This is wonderful!
I attempted to pull in morph, specifically Norma (genesis 2), into photoshop but nothing appeared in photoshop. So I went to photoshop clicked on the Daz Studio menu item, the pop up appeared, clicked in preview image and update image but nothing appeared. So I think at this point the bridge likely works as designed, it just that I am a newb and I am not executing steps correctly to get an image into photoshop.
Please take me by the hand and baby-step me to get an image into photoshop and that would be wonderful.
Thanks
In DS.. File > Initiate Photoshop 3D bridge (your view should jump to a 3D camera- this needs to be the active camera for importing to Photoshop)
In Photoshop.. File > Automate > Daz Studio 3D bridge. You should have a popup in Photoshop with options.
Preview Image doesn't work for me, never did, not sure what it's for to be quite honest. I use render to new layer, export as u3d (to get a 3d rotatable figure into Photoshop- handy for painting directly on the figure), and import/export image maps.
If all this fails, close DS and launch it via Photoshop using the bridge on Photoshop's end.
One bothersome aspect of the bridge, is there's no way to UNinitialize it. Meaning everything you do will cause your camera to jump to the 3D Bridge Camera. If you do delete it, it will be re-created.
Jackpot! Thank you again Vaskania.
This is a great forum community. When I get good at this stuff, I will lend a helping hand too to new users.
Glad you got it working. =)
Thank you very much for your response. Alas, I do not have access to a 64bit version of CS3.

In that case, if you're desperate enough, you'll need to use the 32bit version of DS and the bridge.
My problem fits under this topic, but my situation is rather different.
I am running Daz Studio 4.6 Pro 64-bit, Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended 64-bit, and the Daz Studio 3D bridge 1.3.0.18 (64-bit). All versions should match up.
I can get the bridge to start up, but I can't get preview images to show up. It makes no difference whether or not I tell it to import to a new layer (which is what I usually do). I can get it to render to new layer, but this takes a prohibitively long time, as I use a lot of shaders on the model.
I need the preview render working in order to line up the model and lights with the rest of the composite image. The preview render doesn't take forever to finish.
Also, I don't know whether or not this will help diagnose the problem, but whenever I select "Enable Auto Update," it disables itself a second later.
I can not find it!!! >>> In DAZ Studio 4, go to FILE --> Initialize Photoshop 3D Bridge. In my DAZ 3D,Initialize Photoshop 3D Bridge do not exists. How can I fix it?
