Buying extra Mem 16GB or Using SSD?

Hey folks,

I have been reading and reading om some old threads on daz but heaven't realy found what im looking for.

I want to get some smoother preformence while working in daz.

Sometimes i lags a bit with in daz (not my system it self), and not talking about the rendering part. Purely building in daz without iray on.

Current System is an i7 4790K / 16GB (2x8) Kingston Hyper-X 1866 Caslatency 10 / GTX970 for screen usage / GTX 980Ti for IRAY rendering

Windows running on an SSD 250GB (60GB free)

and 1 Extra SSD 111GB (60GB free) (no RAID)

WD Caviar Black 1TB 7200RPM with daz installed

So i have read that putting daz on an SSD can improve on it's preformance (not render),

But instead of having 16GB, 32GB would be better for daz (so i have read on many threads)

If an SSD would already help then this saves me maybe from buying some extra mem thats aprox.100 EUR

Any help here would be great. Thanks

What kind of lagging? Is Edit>Prefrences>Interface>Display Optimisation set to best, which should be safe for your system?

16gb more Ram are useful when you are setting up very large scenes, or when a scene falls out of graphic cards rendering.

SSD will improve loading times for content and the program, and dependeing on where you have your render temp folder situated, it can help a bit there, too.

I have studio itself installed on my SSD drive, and also the temp folder is on SSD. The content is on. Regular HD, so I get lags sometimes when loading content, or when having saved a scene or subset.

Once content is loaded, hard drive speed doesn't really factor in. In my case, I keep my content on a standard drive. Memory would be more useful.

Richard's recommendation may also help if it's actually an issue with how quickly your video card is refreshing the viewports.
