Wacom Configuration for Studio

When I hook my Wacom intuos 3 tablet, Studio acts erratically. A mere flick of the pen causes settings to change, panes open or close, and touching the translation/rotation wheels can cause the figure to spin like a drunken Dervish or fly away. I think it's a configuration/calibration thing. Does Studio have a way to configure/calibrate a Wacom?

I'm not sure it's Studio that needs the configuration. Have you checked your settings for your Pen? I have a Bamboo as opposed to an Intuos 3, but I have my Pen set directly in the center between Soft and Firm. If you have yours set closer to Soft, that may cause the issues you are experiencing because the Pen tip is more sensitive to anything it's close to.
Of course, I'm just guessing, so maybe someone else with a Wacom tablet could give you better information on how to get it more stablized.
Thank you Miss B., reducing the sensitivity of the pen solved the problem. Appreciate your help. What you suggested and what I followed was calibrating/or configuring the Wacom pen to work with Studio and not vice versa as you thought. Some programs have that function built in, which makes the pen more precise.
Oh, I stand corrected. I didn't realize that some apps allow you to do that "on the fly" as it were. I'm glad that you got it sorted out. ~smile~
Make sure you're running the latest version of the Wacom tablet driver for your particular tablet. I just junked my old Intuos3 because the internal solder connections and the pad sensors were starting to go bad (I notice this new Intuos5 has a large non-receiving area around the active area of the tablet pad to get around some of the broken connector problem). Having your scroll/pan settings set up correctly can make a big difference, just as in Photoshop. And lastly the pens can develop a sensor problem if the nib is too worn down or if the pen is stored on its side all the time. You can try setting the pen point doiwn in its holder overnight. If that doesn't help the sticky slider problem, replace the tip. And of course, make sure you have the correct driver software.
Thank you scotchfairy for the tips, appreciated.
