Try reloading the metadata for the Genesis 2 Female Starter Essentials. Look here for basic instructions:

What??? It is included in my download.
The metadata is in Content/Runtime/Support. It consists of three files:
    DAZ_3D_16280_Genesis_2_Female_Starter_Essentials.dsa
    DAZ_3D_16280_Genesis_2_Female_Starter_Essentials.dsx
    DAZ_3D_16280_Genesis_2_Female_Starter_Essentials.jpg

The Genesis 2 Base Female is in smart content under Figures -> People -> Female -> Real World, but you have to deselect the default Genesis 1 figure that loads when DS starts to get DS to show it to you.

Since the Genesis 2 Base cannot be applied to the Genesis 1 base, smart content will not show it to you, as long as you have the Genesis 1 base selected.

She does show up in the Smart Content>Products tab, but she's included as part of the Genesis 2 Female Starter Essentials bundle. If you open that product, she's at the bottom, next to her pink shorts.

Yes exactly. Those files were not in my first download and so I made my own.

I've just read that there was another update on another matter for G2, so have redownloaded the file but not checked it yet. Since you have them, I probably do now as well.

    ............

edit to add: Got 'em! And even found it in the product file where Lindsey said they'd be. :-)

I don't have DS set to load a default genesis 1 base, so that's not it

    that fixed it, thanks.
It seems that having to import the metadata manually is the punishment for the dissidents who refuse to use DIM ;)

And by the way, how absurdly prudish are these people that nipples have to be switched on after loading the figure!

Normally DS looks for new meta data when it starts up, but this can be turned off.

On the Edit -> Preferences dialog, check on the Startup tab to see if "Show Metadata Import Page" is checked. If this is checked DS is suppose to look for new metadata every time it starts.

That only applies if you use an installer. If you use DIM, it adds the metadata to the database directly. If you manually extract the zips, however, then you will need to manually (Re-)Import metadata.

Now there's a list that could use a search feature!

I thought the original poster of this question was not using the DIM. He did complain about this being the punishment for not using the DIM.

Yes, he's extracting the zips manually, so the Metadata Import Page doesn't get triggered.

I don't think it was meant to be prudish. It was because most of the time you don't want nipples on because they show through clothing. This is more to prevent you from having to dial them out more often than you would dial them in.

OK! So I just extracted the Genesis 2 Base and I can see all the files in the content folder but I can not get it to show in Smart Content. I start up with a blank seen. preferences is set to show meta data on startup. The zip file came with the metadata in Content/Runtime/Support.
    DAZ_3D_16280_Genesis_2_Female_Starter_Essentials.dsa
    DAZ_3D_16280_Genesis_2_Female_Starter_Essentials.dsx
    DAZ_3D_16280_Genesis_2_Female_Starter_Essentials.jpg

    HELP!!

Where is the Content folder? If it's in the My Library or My DAZ 3D Library folder? If so that's wrong, you don't want the Content folder unless that is your actual content directory (if you use the old \DAZ 3D\Studio 3\Content location for your content, for example).

the file structure is as it was in the zip file. I simply extracted the zip file into the "My Library" folder as it was installed by Daz 4.6. never had the older version installed so all the folders should be correct. the full path is C:\Users\bruce\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\Content\Runtime\Support\ and the path in the zip file is IM00016280-01_Genesis2FemaleStarterEssentials.zip\Content\Runtime\Support

Select everything in the Content folder, cut it, and then go to the My Library folder and paste - when asked if you want to merge folders say yes.

Thanks for the help. did that and now I can load it. Why can't they just keep it simple??? If it doesn't belong in the content folder THEN IT SHOULDN'T BE ZIPPED THAT WAY!!! Sorry about the yelling but I get excited when programmers do stupid things. thanks again.
