Realistic Skin for beginners

I've been playing with Daz for a while now and I've got the hang of posing, shaping, lights etc.  But I am completely lost when it comes to getting realistic skin tones, with that subtle translucency that looks so amazing.  I've looked up on Google for tutorials, but they seem to be for older versions.  I also have no idea which part of Daz I'm supposed to be looking in to adjust the settings I need to adjust.  Is anyone able to point me at a good tutorial for a beginner?  Many thanks!
