merging characters into same scene

i have several characters i would like to merge into the same scene.  how can i add a second, third, or more characters to a scene?

    You can also use File>Merge, or right-click on the icon in a content pane and select Merge, to add a scene to an existing scene, instead of replacing the current scene with the new scene. If you mean how can you avoid having them overlap, select the figure and move it around with the Translation sliders in the Parameters pane or - if you are zoomed out enough - by clicking and dragging on the arrows from the Viewport gizmo with the translate or Universal tool.

  • Just to expand on what Illidanstorm said, you can do "File -> Merge" to load another scene into your existing scene without overwriting your current scene. Of course, this will load the entire second scene into the first scene. Not just the character you want. So as Illidanstorm said, you'll probably want to save the character as a scene subset so you don't get lighting, props, cameras, and anything else in the scene loading with it when you merge. Otherwise you end up deleting a bunch of unwanted stuff from your scene after merging.

    thanks everyone. my question has been answered !!  my goal was to load a second and third character into a sceen i had previously done.  I used the scene subset method.  rendering now.....
