How to increase the speed of panning the camera in the viewport?

I am working on the larger environments like Urban Sprawl, and it's incredibly tedious to navigate in the viewport by rolling the middle mouse button only.
Is there a way to accelerate the speed at which the panning happens when using the mouse wheel?
Thanks

Do you mean zooming, that is what my middle mouse button does?
If you select an item in the Scene pane, or viewport, then press the Camera Frame button at the top of the viewport (looks like an open box with a plus sign in the middle), that should frame the selected object.
Yes, that works well if you can select a single object of the size of a character.
But when you have a huge block like Urban Sprawl 2, which is almost 50m long, and is only 1 asset, it doesn't work. If you reframe that item, you've got an overview of the whole ensemble, but to get to a specific part of that huge block takes minutes of scrolling the wheel...
Once you are where you want to be in the scene, create a camera, and name it so that you know what it is. You can then go back to that view by selecting that camera. You can create as many cameras as you need, and they will all be save with the scene for future use.
That is the only way I know of doing it, sorry.
US2 is actually 4 different sections, NE, NW, SE, and SW and a full load also. So if you need finer control only load the one section you need then set a item to VIEW. You can then load the other parts if they are needed. You can DRAG and DROP a figure from any VIEW with the ALT key in Windows. HOLD the Alt key down as you select and drag to the viewport, hold the Alt until after it loads (release the mouse button).
I hope this helps.
