Runtime Organisation?

So, I'm starting to get to the point where there's enough in my runtime that finding stuff is getting to be a pain (or even navigating to it on the instances that I happen to know its exact position is starting to involve an annoying amount of scrolling), and I'd like to get it in some form of order before it grows to a size where reorganising it would be a way too intimidating monster task.

I've already figured out how to set up multiple runtimes, so that's a start, but a lot of content seems really weirdly organised within the runtime structure itself. So, I'd prefer to clean that up a bit if possible... are the following things that would muck anything up?

-Moving hairs out of the character/figure folder into the hair folder
-Moving mat presets out of the pose folder into the materials folder
-Moving expansion packs for products (eg a texture pack expansion for Product X) to a subfolder of the original item (So, for example, all my texture options for Dragon Queen were available in one place in the runtime, rather than having to remember who made them/whether they filed it under product name or author/what the names of all the texture packs are/etc)

Are you talking Runtime ONLY folders (IE Poser content only) or are you asking about BOTH. The Poser Format content and DAZ Studio content? That is two very different things and needs to be handled differently. What works for Poser content CAN break DAZ only content.

The contents of the Runtime folder specifically (the organisation of the My Library folder makes sense to me, and most of it has metadata anyway). But I do use Daz Studio rather than Poser.

Ah... I use the Category feature myself. That lets me make a Folder in my Categories with sub folders if I wish without ever MOVING a file or folder. The Files stay at default install location and I just have a Pointer that can not BREAK the files if it's moved.

My V4 Category folder looks like this.
    V4 Base and Characters
    Textures and Shaders
    Morphs
    Clothing

Each folder has Sub folders. I know where each item is in each folder because I put it there and I never moved a single file.
Now the CMS must run in DS4.6 for Categories to work. I have never once moved files, but so far never needed too.

This might not help you, but it is my work method.
