What's happened to MIMIC?

Hi,
I've been away with health problems so I'm a bit out of date. I love MIMIC but it seems to have been phased out. What is everybody using for lip sync these days. Are the figures after Michael 4 etc not useable in MIMIC. If they aren't then I shall just have to stick with the older figures.
Thanx

Daz Studio now has lipsync built into the program. I still use Mimic Pro. All you need is a dmc configuration file for the model. You can sometimes find the file in the store's page for the figure under the resource files tab. If you don't find the file there, you can check the freepository or the models creator's web page if he or she has one.
Hi,
Thanks Cyberdog that puts me back in the picture.
That's Interesting CYBERDOG !
Are you using Mimic Pro (for poser - that was the original description ) in DS 4 ?
When 4 was released I couldnt get it to locate the mimic program - you know - from the launch mimic button. was using 32bit version of DS.
I contacted helpdesk which was no help. They did say it was unlikely any updates for mimic would be forthcoming .
So wondering can you tell me which version studio you are using and where have you got Mimic installed.
From memory when trying to launch mimic DS asks for the installation folder - which i dutifully entered but mimic would not start.
Eventually I splashed out on "Mimic for Carrara" which is the program I use but I'm still interested in having Mimic work with DS 4.5
Thanks if you can help
I am using DS 4.6. I added lipsync to my pose and animate pane. I just click the mimic pro button and it launches. When installing the software, I chose the default locations. Mimic installed to "C:\Program Files\DAZ\Mimic Pro\Mimic3.exe"
thanks for that.
i will give it another try.
assume your ds4.6 is 32 bit version.or doesent it make a difference to mimic .
I use it in 32 bit. I have not tried in in 64. I only use 64 bit for renders. Since lipsync is only built into the 32 bit version I am guessing it does not work in 64. Again that is just a guess since I have not tried. If it doesn't work you could run Mimic as a stand alone program and import the pose file into DS.
yes, thatis what I also do in preference to re-opening 32bit scene in 64bit as I have Mimic
the lipsync alternative for those poor sods who have not
Ok thanks - have installed Mimic Pro and it started ok from the "Launch button" in the DS4.5 (32 bit) lipsinc panel so I dont know if that's because Daz fixed something or there is something about my installations that are different - who cares now that it works !
64 bit doesn't have the lipsinc therefore no bridge to MImic Pro - this is the point I brought up with support who advised no plans to update Mimic to work with 64bit. (Its all coming back to me - it was ages ago when version 4 was released ). I believe Genesis is "out of the picture too meaning you cant use MimicPro on genesis - havent tried recently so correct me if I'm wrong.
Only have a limited amount of time to make sense of the daz mish mash of programs/updates/versions/plugins that keep us guessing !!!
yes, there is a Genesis .dmc in program files(86) Daz plugins
and I made one for Genesis 2

REDISTRIBUTABLE
Here is a quick experiment with DAZ Studio, Mimic Pro, DarioFish - HFS Shapes for Genesis and Animate 2 aniblocks. I really like this program.
