Thanks for the link @themidget !

@Wanderer and @Saphirewild - you are both welcome.  Youtube has a lot of good Blender tutorials but I thought that was a good basic one to start with.

@themidget - Sometimes more is maybe too much, and you end up having to sift through a lot of stuff that maybe isn't as nice. Whenever I hear positive things about a tutorial or series, I'm curious to know more.

Good point.  I usually find them because I need help with something specific.  If I find particularly good ones I'll keep you informed.

That was a good tutorial.  Thanks.  For quality tutorials specific to content for Daz Studio, I would recommened the youtube channels of Sickleyield and Josh Darling.  You can find some related links in my thread.

EDIT: scroll down to the section on Specific Software: Daz Studio, which has links to both Sickleyield and Josh Darling

    Keep up the great work.

Thanks a lot Diomede.  I have used some of Sickleyield's written tutorials and they are really good.  I didn't know she had a Youtube channel.

That's pretty amazing.  Didn't know you could make own clothes/outfits.  Simple props in Hexagon maybe, but clothes?  Wow!

That might be long range goal since PAs probably aren't going to make props/clothing for a Pratchett 'Discworld' project I have in mind.

    Anyway, best wishes on it!

@Tynkere and @Wanderer, here is a post that points to some introductory content creation stuff.  https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/3595916/#Comment_3595916

Wow, you came quite a long way since I visited your thread the last time! smiley

Will you create a morph for the chin area of your character, to make is smoothly fit to the rest of the head? Or is this the intended look?

Thank you.  I'm a Discworld fan too but it's probably a bit ambitious for me at the moment, otherwise I would make a start for you.

The idea was to stetch edge rings in Blender to create an extreme morph and see if Daz could create it.  I want to adjust under the chin but the ridges running from the chin towards the cheek bones were intentional.  I may try to go even more extreme the next time I work on her.

Thanks.  Offer very generous of you.  Guess that makes two is us though.  In theory "The Luggage" might be easy for the feet at least, but mouth & nasty teeth beyond me.  My ability might be finding ready made hat and just change texture file so it has 'Wizzard' on it.  : )

Thank you both.  I'm jumping around from one thing to another at the moment so I don't know when things will be finished.

Really like the vest.  The character is coming along quite nicely, I really like where you are going with her

Glad you like it.  I suppose a waistcoat has to button from the waist downwards.  Would you call this a vest?  I really don't know what to call it.

A vest is the American word for a waistcoat.   I am not quite certain what their word is for what we this side of the pond call a vest, which is an item of underwear worn under a shirt or blouse etc during the winter.

Waistcaots can be long or short, and that looks like a waistcoat to me.

if you Google images for both waistcoat and vest  ,it seems waistcoat is most apprpriate to call it but vest could also work

Hey Chohole those undershirts for men are called wife beaters in some areas of the US

You learn something new every day!  My wife just told me that here in Sweden it is called a "väst" (pronounced the same as vest)

I am sure that there is a reason for that.

    Scarf And Brooch

I don't know why I am getting lots of white spots and blobs on the render but these were made in Blender.

I'm wondering what is causing these spots and blobs to appear on the render.

They look like reflections of light sources.

Merged threads so the question doesn't get addressed in two places.

Hmmm.... Sorry @themidget. I know next to nothing about Blender. I'm doing good if I can use it to convert a blend file to obj or something I can use. Good luck with getting a fix on it.

The render was in Daz, the scarf and brooch were made in Blender.

They look like reflections of light sources.

Would that happen with the default lighting?  I haven't added any lights yet.

Had you adjusted the surface settings? Imported OBJs tend to come in pretty shiny, though I'm not sure they'd do that with the default RuinsHDR.
