Is there a way to turn a jpg image into a Bryce mat file? All help is appericated!!

Digital Dragon - you can use a jpg in the Materials Lab. Select an object, click on M to access the Mat Lab. Set a dot for Diffuse and a random texture appears. On the bottom left are two buttons: T for texture to enter the DTE, and P to enter the Pictures. Here you can load images. Make sure you select the appropriate mapping mode when back in the Mat Lab.
