Shutting the eye in scene Tab Help or No?

If I am doing a image with a few characters in it, my first test btw. Does it help to go to the scene tab and shut the eyeball thingy as I go at it so the cpu doesn't have to work so hard? The models disappear but I have a bunch of hair and pants and such still haunting the scene? That normal? Anyway I guess my question is does that just help me with a crowded scene or does it actually take some load off the computer?

Ps~and why does their laundry refuse to leave?

You have to select all the assets as well as the character for them all to disappear. You can also select them all and then create a group and then hide the group.

Or select them all and use the Visible button in the Parameters pane.
