SSS in a few clicks?

I like the results I see in the promo pics for these items.

http://www.daz3d.com/subsurface-toolbox
http://www.daz3d.com/subsurface-toon-shaders
http://www.daz3d.com/subsurface-gummy-plastic-shaders

Do they achieve those results in just a few clicks or would there be some additional tweaking?

Thanks,
Stefan

Short answer, yes. You can get some pretty cool results from just a few clicks.

To duplicate those renders would probably take a bit more than a few quick clicks though.

Here is a quick render I just did, took me about 3 minutes counting render time.

    Steps:
    1. Load EmotiGuy into scene, add nerd glasses and quick pose.
    2. Select EmotiGuy and on surfaces tab select Skin.
    3. Find the Gummi shaders, pick one, double click to add.
    4. Repeat above adding different shaders to various parts of model.
    5. Render perspective view with no lights.

Adding lights or camera will have some impact on the outcome as the SSS react to the lighting in your scene and camera angle can cause interesting reflections.
