How to do reflection on the floor/water

Once upon a time when I was reading in the Discussion forum a thread by a lady about her creation and some body asked her how she did the reflection on the ground, she gave a very detailed instruction how to do that. I was so stupid not to copy it or save it somewhere, now, when I need to do a reflection on the floor, I don't know how.

Can someone kindly give me instruction how to do that?
Thank you.

Set reflection strength to a non-zero value, have no image in the Reflection colour, and make sure you are using the 3Delight renderer

I'm not looking it up as I am in the middle of something, but I'm pretty sure I posted the link in my Art Studio thread, and I also did some renders to show the results using that process described. See my signature, and I'm on page 30 doing a light tutorial at the moment, so I think it would be back about ten pages from that (guessing though)

I looked through many pages but no luck...
Well I remember it was some character shown, and someone saw it and said some nice comments at the same time asked how did she ( i believe it is a she ) make those nice reflections, and then the thread went on to explain it step by step, very nice, O well, i hate myself not saving it, I thought I did, but obviously I didn't, probably I had encounted some problem and I had to restart my Mac that day, and forgot about it later. It is a very handy tutorial to make reflections on floor..... regretting now.

Well I played with Richard's simple instructions above, and for a simple reflection on a floor, it worked well. I pumped the Reflection parameter up to 100%, though 50% works as well. It all depends just how much (defined) a reflection you want.

That said, maclean had a tutorial on the old forum for a "mirror" reflection that I've used more than once for standing and wall mirrors, though I wouldn't necessarily use it for a floor reflection, which isn't usually as detailed  --> http://forumarchive.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=16922

First - apply the Iray Uber Base Shader, then use Reflection slider and depending on what kind of reflection you want, you can use the thinwalled setting too.

For a shiny floor, I find that 30-50% Reflection Strength is usually good (with no map). You can go higher, depending on how much reflection you want, but above 70-80% starts to become mirror-like.

The main promo image in Home One House was done at 50% - http://www.daz3d.com/shop/home-one-house
