Having Troubles with non-smooth ridges

I need help with trying to smooth a hook that I’m modeling. The area that is giving me trouble is the transition between the eye-let of the hook to the throat of the hook. With the screen capture attached you will see the process I have done so far. Yes I realized the nodes (in the problem area the red circle) are not connected properly but everything I have tried has either creates the ridge as shown or a groove down the centerline of the hook.
I’m hoping someone knows what I’m doing wrong…

Avoid using n-gons in your models (where n > 4). Best practice is to use polygons with 4 sides only.
