Resetting pose, without resetting scales?

Hi all. I'm still new to Daz. Just wondering how I can reset a pose, without it resetting my scales.
I have an actor that I like to use. But her arms are scaled to 90%-105%-90% and the neck is at 110% length.
The fingers are scaled very precisely. Because lets face it, Daz's standard scales for hands are very unattractive and manly. Even on Vic5.
Sometimes I just want to reset the pose completely. Especially after I do a complex pose. But if I do, I lose all my custom scales.

With the figure selected go in to the Parameters Pane and click on the Options Box as shown below.

Then choose Zero > Zero Figure Pose. This will put the figure in to the default T-Pose with all scaling and morphs intact.

In that same menu you also Memorise so you can memorise the Pose and Shaping before using Zero just in case you want to return to the start.

    Hope that helps

Tried it. Didn't work. I did that, and the scales reset. The morphs stayed but she went from 80% scale on height back too 100%. Same with every other custom scale. They all went back to standard 100%

That is strange as I tested this out on a seriously morphed Genesis figure and all the scaling and morphs held true. I am at a loss to why it does that for you sorry.

I always get the same problem as the OP. Selecting "zero figure pose" always resets the scaling to 100% for Genesis. Most annoying.

Yes very strange. That example above had an over all scale of 100.70% before and after Zeroing the Pose.

Scaling that is set by using a morph like Mr Hyde or Leg Length will not be reset by the Zero Figure Pose. Any scaling done manually, like making Mr Hyde only 4 feet tall by changing Scale=150 to Scale=66, will be reset, in this case to 150%. If the character is in the final shape you want you can Memorize Figure and use Restore Figure to get the shape back after zeroing.

    OIC!!

I was using manual scaling (the grey slider). And that always resets.

So "memorize" is a way of remembering just the scaling values, but not the pose?

I wonder if locking the scaling will help

You have a Momorise Figure Shape to Sertorial.

I recommend you make zero pose preset without scale .

    load genesis.duf on current scene.
    then save pose preset.
you can arrange check un check, with option.

1.check all transfrom (I usually un-check root translation)
    2 uncheck all scale.

I often adjust face shape by scaling, so I needed this pose preset.

    Then I feel strange why vendor like to record scaling for their poze presets ?? ^^;
Even though I adjust scale of each node and make character, after apply new poze, my face scaling change.
    it is really unkind .

I need to save scaling only preset too.

Memorize memorizes shape and scale. Locking works for the current session but I found they don't always stay locked after saving and reloading. The only drawback to pose presets is that it can't override dial limits.

    Hi jestmert,,,

As for me Memorize simply memorize current shape , poze (include scaling), or both. (or rigging modification)
If I change head x scale, abdomen z scale, and memorize figure, shape, poze. after that, zero poze, or apply poze preset.
it reset scaling too. I hope to re-gain my modify scale only.

    case 1
try to restore shape, it do not restore scale.

    case 2
restore poze , it simply re-poze which I memorize. so that it do not means to reseting poze.

Then I know poze preset have option when apply it, (with ctrl) do not change scaling.
but everytime need to tweak scaling option .

Scale your figure at will. Then save a pose preset in which only the scale values of the body parts are checked (uncheck thus all the rest). A bit laborious but you only have to do it once. Then you can apply any pose to your figure followed by your scale-only pose preset and you are done.
