Constraint Key Parameter Editing

Greetings! I come today looking for help on how to edit the constraint function (which can be used by pressing Shift and moving the mouse/applique). It's also commonly seen in MSPaint, it allows you to create perect circles, squares, etc etc etc, and I'm modeling things that I require to be perfectly symmetrical while using the extrude surface and unfortunately for me, the constraint function doesn't always behave the way I'd like it to. I'd like to get it to snap in 45 degree increments. I tried looking around elsewhere for answers, I even tried figuring it out myself, and either it doesnt exist, or I am looking for something under a different name.

Thanks in advance guys!

    Which application is this in?

  • Hexagon. It can be used on just about all of the tools. It tries to lock/align whichever axis your brush is on. To examine this effect, use extrude surface, press and hold shift then move the mouse around.
