Quick Hello
Hi everyone, so I been lurking for a few months now. Much of my questions have been nicely answered in previous posts from others and I have been grateful to find the answers by searching, I will probably have some questions of my own to post one day but for now I'm just having fun.
I cannot belive how I have sunk a small fortune into Daz but I have accumulated a great collection to build many custom models, sets, landscapes, buildings and props, and tonnes of morphs and clothes bundles. The PC sales have helped alot and now I feel even more confident when dreaming up a scene, even grabbing up Facegen which has been a total laugh and I have used it lots to create 3d family replicas in precarious scenarios for some giggles and shits.
I literally just bought into the Iclone7, 3dExchange Pipeline, and Curve Editor after trying the demo for the past 20 days and it makes animating for someone like me pretty straightfoward and rewarding. I managed to jump in while they were having the content bonuses in their sale, but I have to admit that I have limited animation skills but am steadily learning (Udemy is my go to), and I managed to get some good results from Daz but my results in Daz were hit and miss even with Graph Editor and Keygen. I have some Blender experience and a tiny bit of Maya experience but nothing past novice and Maya is a very expensive software to learn on, even the LT is a bit much considering its a rented license monthly and the price of LT over 2 years would even surpass the Iclone bundle I went with. I did buy the daztomaya plugin being hopeful but the results for that were hit and miss and my models would come out GINORMOUS which led me to the forums and onto Iclone which paired with Daz is pretty mind blowing.
Blender has been good for making image sequences however, and the Octane Render plugin is fantastic and they have a subscrition now for like 20 a month which I can justify given the render times and I didn't have to jump in a 600.00 license this early on for rendering. All of the foregoing applications I have learned about through this forum and it is nice to see the active topics and past topics, including finding the many McCasual scripts (even if i don't understand them all yet) but, I still get some great ez results and that is what sucked me in. So, not quite perfect yet but I have fun and I have been turned onto a whole new unforseen hobby (and hole in the wallet ;p)
Thanks for helping me spend my money, but seriously thanks for being a solid community and to all the helpful members I will shout out and say lurkers like myself appreciate you're willingness to lend a hand to others less knowledgable.
But, I digress... so I will finish off with a big friendly hello from Canada and I will leave it with an open ended "eh!".

Welcome.
Hello
Hey, Stevie. Glad you're having fun.
Hi everyone, yes... I am horrible... and I got a little bonus from my work so I just blew another small pile of cash, mainly on shaders this time around... and hairstyles... nothing worse than having the same hair for all of the renders so I went crazy, thank god for PC Club, the deals were great and now I feel like I have a full featured toolkit.
Now, I just need to practice, practice, practice... my current achilles heel ... LIGHTS... FML light ;s
Again I digress... but its my nature to be scattered
I am a fine art student, and now I am seriously debating if I want to switch in animation and computer arts... But, that said... I love putting together scenes and then painting or sketching from it after. So liberating.

To the forums to learn about lights I go ;)
Welcome! A good place to post your progress is your own thread in the Art Studio forums. We all enjoy watching people grow and you will get lots of encouragement.
As for the amount of content I've purchased, I can't even thing about it without breaking out in hives lol.
Thanks I will for sure, I missed the reply haha. Not used to the forum yet, I have learned alot, sighed alot... pulled hair, and not the cg ones. But, I'm finally getting somewhere. I will start a thread, and I have something to share in it that maybe a contribution, just something I have discovered and been abusing ;)
