Skin error in 3Delight across multiple G3 & G8 characters

In my renders, I've encountered a problem recurring across multiple characters: Ivan 7, The Guy 7, Ophelia 7, and Michael 8. All renders are done in 3Delight; this doesn't happen in Iray. It's a different portion of the skin on each character - Ivan's chest, Ophelia's arm, The Guy's face, etc. I've attached an image of Ivan with the error (and no, he is not wearing a sweater vest).
Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Have you tried redownloading and reinstalling the characters?
What lights are you using?
I have. Didn't help.
A set by Dimension Theory.
And you're using 3DL skinshaders? If you use subsurface scattering, will it render ok if you turn SSS off?
I'm just using the out-of-the-box materials - I'm way too new at this to try modifying any settings or using shaders!
Ok so out-of-the-box could very well mean you're trying to render IRay materials in 3Delight? Look for the 3DL mats for those characters in your content library and apply them, you should find them under content library/people/genesis3 or 8/your character/materials/3Delight or something similar;) Hope that solves it!
That was the first thing I checked. I am using the out-of-the-box 3DL materials, not the Iray ones.
Ok, had to ask;) Hmm if you select your character and go to the surface pane and look in the upper left corner IIRC you should see which shader is being used for the skin, it could be the DS default shader or UberSurfade or AoA SS shader or something else. If it's something else than the default shader you should find a channel when you scroll down that's called sub surface or SSS (sub surface scatter) or something similar. Try switching it off and do a test render to see if the artefacts disappear. If that doesn't help please share your render settings. Also try removing all lights from the scene and testrender to exclude light settings issues.
I've tried altering a number of settings, including hairy/hairless maps, SSS settings, and skin maps. I've been using AprilYSH's 3Delight basic render settings that came with one of her hairs for my lights, and the attached render cam as my camera.
I've triggered the glitch twice, using the following settings:
The commonality that leaps out at me is Normal maps 2. The glitch appeared both times that I used it, and none of the times I did not.
