using jpeg files

my name is Norah, I am looking to import some bmp or jpeg files to use as tiled floor for a scene I am building.  I created the file attached in PaintShop Pro. I have tried Bryce, Studio 4.10 and hexagon and in the following formats: dwf, dwg, jpeg and tga. Can anybody help please? I do have Turbo cad available which explains the dwf and dwg format.  Thanks in advance.

  • In DS you use the Surfaces pane, with a suitable model (such as create>New primitive and set it to Plane) selected and its surface selected in the list in the Editor tab - click the little button to the left of the slider/colour bar for the property you want to apply the map to and from the menu select Browse, then select your JPG image. You can adjust tiling for the whole surface in the list of properties, or (in Iray) for that map by clicking the same button (which will now show a micro-thumbnail of the image) and selecting Image Editor.

    In Bryce you need select the object you wish to apply the texture to then  go to Edit on the top Icons,  and then click on the left most icon on the next line across the top icons, the 2 coloured cube one,

    Theis brings you to the Materials lab.    on the main part there , first line   diffuse   put a dot in the first space.    you now see a screen to the right.  On the bottom line of that screen click on the little letter "P"  and the display now should show you a picture in the first square.  now click on the second dot along the top and you get a bigger version of the mat editor screen.  You can see above the picture image the word "load"  Click on this and then load your JPG from your computer. click the tick in right bottom of that screen to go back to the previous screen.

    You can edit repitions, how many times the texture is applied, etc by using the bottom right dot on the image screen.  Click on the tick at the bottom of the page and go back to you main display to see how the textures has applied, and if you need to refine the scaling.
