Simulation of tape application

I'm a new user and need some help. Is it possible to simulate the application of tape around a model? (Think of wrapping electrical tape around a connection-this is my goal). If so, where may I find a tutorial or documentation?

Many thanks,

Randy Davis

You would need to explain a bit more?

What application are you using, DAZ Studio? Do you want to do an animation of this, or just a still image? The only way I can think of, is to create your tape as clothing in a modelling application, and then conform it to the figure. How well it looks will depend on how well you can model basically. It might be a bit easier to do in ZBrush.

I think they mean animate and in studio I cannot think of an easy way.
in Poser one could use dynamic cloth pinned one end to an object that is turned sideways and rolled
then run the dyntomorph python script to create an animated prop with morphs
hiding the unrolled bit by clever camera angles one could add a cylinder textured and keyframed for the tape.
I could also prob do this in Carrara.
unless Optitex have a very long skinny pinnable (controlled) dynamic shape not possible in studio.
one could suggest it to Martin from Optitex, can see many uses.
