    Apoc : thank you.

Hansmar : thanks. The story or rather what inspired me is how some people are excluded from the community and left alone and lonely.

@drachenlords... Love Letter is a beautiful image... great shadows... Love  A Noise In The Night... very creepy what lurks in the shadows... Lost in Meditation is also a gorgeous scene... the smoke from the incense and candles is lighted beautifully

@Mermaide010... Lighting the Worls is  a very cool image ... nice glow from the flame

@SRay... Candle in the Window is great... invokes moody thought... Fortune Seers Candle is wonderful

@adbc... Serenity ... a beautiful realistic image, love the DOF,  Alone in an Empty Room...sad, but a great glow from the lantern..

@Hansmar... When The Wizard is Out Very nice image... It is interesting about the missing shadows... I had an image tht showed no shadows and it was pointed out to me that perhaps in in hte Sky Lab ... Sun/Moon shadows was unchecked and that was the issuye for me... be that as it may it si a fun image.

@apoc... Resistance is a great image... very dark making the glow form the lantern and candle...exquisite and subtle...

After adjusting to and reloading a new laptop... I was finally able to get my first entry...

mtnmen: thanks. no, the missing shadows are certainly not due to unchecking the shadows in sun/moon. My conclusion is: there are no missing shadows; the light is so close to the table, that the whole visible floor is in the shadows. And your contribution is highly original; very well done.

Horo: Horo without inspiration? No way. Fine render you made.

Slepalex: Fantastic still life work! Beautiful light. For me personally, the strange blue object is a bit out of place. Too 'modern' for the scene. But, others may disagree with me.

ed3D: great surreal render. Sci-fi like and it tells a story. The surprising look on the face of the girl and the falling/floating candle make me wonder what the story is.

Horo : Very special effect, cool image.

    Slepalex : Outstanding render.

    ed3D : Impressive surreal entry.

    drachenlords - thank you.

Slepalex - very nice, two peaches. Hansmar may be right that the blue object is a bit too modern for this scene. However, I find this contrast complemets all the smooth rounded forms in the scene.

    mermaid - thank you.

ed3d - cool idea, nicely done. The floating candle is an enigma.

    Hansmar - thank you.

Hansmar and Horo, you are both right.
This blue object looks alien on this scene. At the same time, the contrast of a cold color against the background of warm colors of other objects brings some animation into the picture. Or dissonance. It's up to you. :-)
    Thank you.

Slepalex. You're mostly right. Indeed, you can see it two ways. But it is really up to you as the artist, what you want to show, even if there is no deeper meaning and you just like it.

  • @ Slepalex: Wonderful picture, like a painting. The blue object in front forms an interesting contrast.

@ ed3D: Good idea. A mix of SciFi and Surreal. Not bad.

Ok, maybe my second one. Would perhaps be more fitting for a Haloween contest, but I that was more coïncidence than purpose.

I will decide later, whether this will indeed be my second entry. Depends on whether I make another one or two.

Hansmar - very special with the candle flames as cat's eyes. I like the idea very much.

Mermaid's Lighting the World inspired me. I created an HDRI from around 240 candles to illuminate the landscape by candle light. The Old Barn in the distance is from c-ram.

    Second entry
