SAVE button went crazy

HI,

This is my big trouble these days. Well, as usual, I tried to save by clicking the save button after a scene is done, but this "save" function has turned itself into a "delete" button, it just close/crash DS 4 pro at once and give me that "Daz Studio quit unexpectedly" dialogue box. It wasn't anything big to be saved, even a little something caused it to die. So the only way I can try to save my work is to pretend to close DS so it will ask me "Do you want to save.... " and so I clicked yes and things could be saved. But then of course it will close DS after it's saved so I have to re-open it.

Pretty inconvenient and annoying. Can anyone please tell me what went wrong and how i may fix the "Save" and "Save As" buttons. I worry that one day even cheating the DS by telling it I am closing might not work again, then there is no way to save at all!

Thank you in advance!

Do the menu commands still work? File>Save or File>Save as>Scene or Scene subset? How about any of the presets in the File>Save as sub menu?

Glad you asked! Forgot to mention, now I cannot even open Daz Studio with the click of the icon, I actually have to go to the list of Application in Mac and clicked "Daz ..... 64 bit" in order to summon the opening of DS. Once DS is opened, here is what I have to do - to literally drag my file I wanted from wherever I stored it into the view area in DS in order to open it. I cannot call it from the menu Open> anymore.n If I look it up and click open, same as clicking save or save as, it crashed.

So, yeah, as I mentioned earlier, when I tried the menu, Save, or Save as literally can never be touched, once touched, everything disappeared as DS "quit unexpectedly", all the work went down to drain.

Sounds like you have trashed prefs, incompatible pliugins or a trashed installation.
I would recommend to reinstall DAZ Studio (application) first to see if it helps. Have yo installed any special plugins or non-DAZ Genesis morphs recently? I know some free, old and not very well created morphs can create all kind of weird problems.

You description of the Doc Icon not working really make me believe you have multiple installations. Where do the doc icon point? (Right click -> Show In Finder)

After Right click "show in Finder", it is Application > DAZStudio4 64-bit > DAZStudio, where I open DS now. Everytime I touched the File or even just the word "Finder", DS quited. I can only drag open my files now. I don't recall installing any outsider plugins, but when you mentioned it and I checked I do have duplicated Daz 3D among my Applications ( I want to keep safe that I have a spare ), so now I moved this copy to Trash. Then, I shut down and open again, same thing happened, can't touch the Finder area! Don't know what to do about this.

How may I re-install Daz 4 Pro? Can't get that on your website now.

Rereun the installer, it will deinstall DS before installing. Which version of DS are you running, and which versiojn of Mac OS X do you have?
