Where the ocean meets the sky - Terradome 3

I was wondering what is the best way (assuming ways exist) of extending the water so that it meets the sky on the horizon in Teradome 3. Presently, if thee is no landscape between the two (the B zone forming this) then a grey band is usually visible along what should be the horizon line.

  • One factor to keep in mind would probably be the height of your camera above the "ground" level. When the camera is high up, your view out to the horizon goes waywaywayoutthere to quite a distance, so the outer edge of the water plane might be clearly visible as distinct from the inner edge of the sky. When the camera is low down, the water plane will very quickly become "flat" and merge into the distant sky. Also, (not sure of this, been a while since I last played with TD3) isn't there a morph dial to move the sky up and down?

Try setting the water cylinder's X/Y/Z rotate parameter to a small value like 0.5. That should be enough to cover the horizon line.

An alternative is to use a different HDRI.
