Rendering with two graphic cards / rendering error / iray

Hello,

I recently started working with daz and thought it would be a good idea to add my old graphic card with a pci-express extender (gtx 460 1GB) to speed up the iray rendering a bit for small scenes. Now I have the problem that I get a render error roughly at halt-time and then daz falls back to cpu-rendering (which is rather slow in my case). It renders without errors if I use only the main graphic card (GTX 745 4GB). The drivers and windows are all up to date.

I looked in the log file but unfortunately the error message doesn't help me to identify/solve the problem. According to it the GTX 745 causes the error (kernel error/whatever that means). But strangely rendering with the GTX 745 alone goes without problems. Perhaps someone with more experience can help me or give me a hint what's wrong?

"the video card drivers are all up to date" may actually be the problem.

Roll back to 387.92 and see if it gets better.

Are there general problems with the newest drivers?

And on a second note, after studying the logs a little bit more it caught my attention that daz fails to allocate some memory to the GTX 460 at the beginning (2018-02-02 22:58:14.792 WARNING: dzneuraymgr.cpp(307): Iray ERROR - module:category(IRAY:RENDER):   1.2   IRAY   rend error: CUDA device 1 (GeForce GTX 460): Failed to allocate 858.636 MiB). It,s only a 1GB card but shouldn't it have enough memory to process the scene? And why does it continue to process the scene with both graphic cards if the allocation failed (Or doesn't it? I am not really sure i read the log correctly).
