clothing. rigging on Genesis
Hello people,
Hope i have placed this post in the correct place,
Have been using Daz 3 Advance for 2 years now and have just downloaded the free daz 4.5 [ upgraded to 4.6 now] and i am trying to model clothing in hexagon and import over in to daz 4.6, i have read and watched a number of tutorials with regard this, and it takes a bit of learning,
My main problem seems to be load genesis female fig, then import the clothing obj saved in another folder in to the scene, then go through the process of fitting the clothing to the genesis figure, using the Transfer utility tool, in tutorials i had read/watch when this is done the clothing item should now be conform to figure and will move as the figure moves,
When i do it and the transfer utility does its stuff , my clothing lays on the chest area of the figure, and not on her, so what I,m i doing wrong!
Its hard enough trying to get my head around 4.6 and its different features when i have been using 3.0 advance for so long, i am looking for the power poser to move the figure etc, so i need help in rigging, so any help for dummies would be greatly received.

Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing?
When creating clothing for genesis, it is best to use the base Genesis figure, then use the transfer utility. It should then morph with almost any shape of Genesis. If you use an already morphed figure, you have to use the Reverse Deformations from Target, in the Transfer Utitlity, did you do that?
Hi JimmyC,
Screen shot no sorry dont have a photoshop/paintshop app on the 64 bit partion which my daz 4.6 in on,
The base figure as far as i know i am,
Reverse Deformations from target!!
I can see me starting a new hobby soon, knitting perhaps!
Well good news i found the power pose loader!
Bad news, the Transfer utility when using this it won't allow me to tick the box of the Reverse deformations from target!
Yes knitting is looking good as a new hobby!
As i said in above post, got no painting program on my 64bit partion, so goen into daz 3 on my 32bit for screen shot so you can get my jest of what i am on about,
when you go through the transfer utility click accept this is the end result, the clothing item sits on her chest, yes if you move genesis figure the clothing follows, but why isn't she wearing the clothing!!!!
Just spotted the spelling mistake in the picture.[ replace to with the]
I don't make clothing, so I can't help much. When modelling clothing for Genesis, you are supposed to use the BASE Genesis figure, and not the basic female.
Are you using the bridge from DS to Hexagon, and sending the Genesis figure over that way to model your clothing on, and then sending the clothing back? Does the clothing fit the Genesis figure when you bring it back into DS? If you load the base Genesis figure, and send that to Hexagon, model your clothing around it, it should work. It looks like you may have moved the figure from it's zero position.
The figure above is V4, not Genesis.
The Transfer Utility works with weight-mapped figures only - have you converted V4 to a weight mapped figure?
The OP was using Genesis on his DS4.6 on 64 bit setup, but the current image was taken in DS3, 32 bit just to show what the problem was. Not very satisfactory, but it illustrates what he means.
The clothing figure comes out like shown when he uses Genesis.
Clothing for any figure, esp for Genesis, "must" be in exactly the correct loading spot to "land on" Genesis when "imported" into D/S and Genesis is "as is when and where loads".
Then one uses the transfer utility.
Then one saves the clothing and deletes what was just loaded.
Then one opens the new saved clothing file and carries on.
