Age of Armour Advanced Spotlights help

I am not sure what is wrong, I tried rendering my scene with the Daz default lights, and it renders fine, but I decided to buy the Advanced Spotlights to see if I can get a better result. I have used the default values for the parameters, and I have also played around with some of the parameters, but every time using these lights my scene is completely black.

I should also mention that I can see my figure in the preview mode, and Autoheadlamp is off, so the light that is visible in the preview window is coming from the Advanced lights, but for some reason they won't render. I've even tried changing the surfaces to the AoA subsurface shader and that still doesn't work.

Edit: I tried changing the render to 3Delight and it works fine in there, so apparently these lights don't like Iray? Is there any way to get them to work in Iray?

  • Are they made for Iray or 3DL?

The default Perspective View camera will always override the Autoheadlamp Off setting. Only created cameras obey that setting in the Preview. If the scene is illuminated when viewed through a created camera with its headlamp Off, then it most certainly is the external lights, and the scene should not render black. To me, that indicates the lights are not photometric, and are not designed for Iray.

The AoA Advanced lights were made for 3Delight. They don't specifically state this since they were made long before Iray was introduced in DAZ Studio, and 3Delight was the only render engine included. DAZ has a thirty day return policy and you may be able to get a store credit.
