Drawing on skins???

Hello all! Just got Daz about a month ago and I've been muddling through all the material and aspects. What I'm trying to figure out at this point is how to 'draw' markings on skin? Such as markings on the face, war paint, birth marks, tattoo's, etc. Is there another program I need to learn, video's with instruction, techniques or materials, etc.?
Thanks so much! :)

You can draw on the Diffuse map (in the relevant textures folder for a character) which you can access via the Surfaces panel. You can draw with any drawing/painting program such as Photoshop through to GIMP or Paint.NET.
There is the issue that the Diffuse map is a flat surface which is mapped to a curved mesh, and so if you draw a straight line on the diffuse map it may appear distorted on the figure depending on where it is drawn. This shows up most with text. Distortion can also be made worse by extreme morphs; the same is true for the skin itself but this is usually less obvious.
If you want to draw directly on to the curved surface of the figure (or clothing item) then there are programs that can do that and then export the diffuse (and other maps) such as Blacksmith3D over at Renderosity. ZBrush is another program that can do this, I believe. Each such program has it's own learning curve. You will need to search out tutorials to help but there are many available on the internet and some commercially available ones here in the DAZ shop and at Renderosity, I believe.
Have fun with your new hobby. It can be very frustrating but also very rewarding and there are lots of people willing to help at the forums here and elsewhere.
Look on the image I posted, clicking on Browse, DAZ will open the path that contains all the Textures. Copy those files in a separate folder and open them with Paint/SAI/Photoshop/CorelDraw/Gimp or whatever 2D editing software.
Modify them as you please and simply chose the new testures using the same button you used to locate the textures and choose yours.
This is the most quick method, otherwise there are softwares like Blacksmith3D that allows you to export the model and paint on it, but it's way more complex.
I am about ready to rip my hair out.
I've tried bridging the Daz3d Studio to my PS CC but I can't for the freaking love of me figure that one out. I tried doing what Imago suggested up above and I can get to the part where I copy, but I can't paste them to a seperate folder. The option to simply 'paste' is not there and I have no idea how to do so any other way. I'm much too apprehensive to try a whole new program when I can't even figure this out so now I'm just stuck. I've been clicking and searching until my eyes are ready to bleed. I think I'm at a point where I'm making it a bit harder than it should be but I just can't figure my way around it.
Using pre-made materials isn't all that difficult, but I don't know how anyone is able to formulate their own mats and textures or any of that jazz. Just this little bit is driving me batty and all I want to do is make black markings on a skin for my Mirialan character. >.<
Appreciate the help, truly, and if there is any way you can dumb this down for my little brain I will try anything at this point before I go bang my head against the wall.
