First this is not a Modeling App, only Hexagon and Carrara have Mesh modeling built in. Daz Studio is a Rendering Program, you Load pre made models add clothing, textures, lighting and much more to get a Picture (render) of the items you use.

I suggest you start here, and follow along to get another new users Idea of how DS is used.
http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/19756/ Novica has done a good job and it is worth a look.

Ok, So say I buy the hexagon App. I will be able to make models in there, and then I export and import it to this one to add colors and textures and thing of that nature?

Yes. Hex is a prg Like Blender, a modeling App, and the items made can be used in DS. Even making new poseable figures can be done. Any Modeling prg that exports a Obj file or a few other mesh formats can be used to make the objects, you can then load them in DS and do more things. UV mapping will need to be done in another App, (hex, blender ect) and Textures are mostly made in a 2D art program once a UV map is made. In DS you can RIG and much more. But mostly DS is a Render tool with some other nice tools built in.

I don't know what some as that means as I am a super beginner at modeling, and rendering and all this. I will probably buy Hex then as you said it does work for making items and I'm assuming characters and what not. :)

If you can learn to model it yes it will do it, including the UV mapping. I have Hex and dabble. And others prefer Blender or another, as I say any modeler will do, learning it is the hard part.

Welcome to the Forums by the way. And I hope you enjoy your time here and playing with anything you try. This is a great community and many folks will offer you help as you go. Just ask things as you need the help.

Even fierce blue people who are members of the BWC (Bald Wizard Club) are helpful with new folks. (wicked grin)
And do note the other sections of the forum- there are those for the specific programs, aka, Carrara, Bryce, etc- so you can ask questions to the specific folks who actually use that program.

Stick with Blender it is a much more advance modeling program than Hexagon and it has a manual of sorts.
