Deleting / Hiding eye lashes

Hello!

Could anybody tell me how to make the eye lashes invisible?

I chose the "Surface Selection" tool, then I clicked on the eye lashes and clicked "Select Eyelashes".

This worked fine.

How would I make them invisible now or delete them?

I'm stuck.
