Downloaded from the Product Library page or with DIM? If the former, did you download the DIM version or the installer?

    No, you don't need both.

Anyone else having questions about what DIM files have (including CFs) -go take a peek at the DIM video.

i am at work most of the daylight hours and when i get home i try to get my DAZ on. i downloaded Griffin wings 1.0 trx.exe DS, Griffin wings DS DIM, and Griffin Lord 1.0 trx.exe DS and Griffin Lord DS DIM. when i saw the news that the install manager was going away, i deleted the IM. would it behoove me to re-install the DIM and reload the files. i can find the files in my docs/daz/librarys blah blah blah but nothing shows up on my content or in my library in DAZ 4.6 PRO menus. i am cornfuzed. i am assuming that DS is DAZ Studio and Ps is Poser.please let me know how to get my content to show up in my content file in DAZ4.6? Also when i upgraded to DAZ 4 to DAZ 4.6 pro did every thing i have integrate itself into the upgrade. like my wife says, i can run a 10 million dollar construction project but have a hard time putting a McDonalds kids meal toy to gether. those things are a pain. please help me out. i am here to stay and all help is very much appreciated. i also have Bryce 7. it is awesome. i am 60 years old but not in my mind. age is a state of mind until arthritis pains get you. some days i feel 19 and other days 90. thanks to all for their patience in dealing with a hillbilly that loves art.

Okay- here's the thing- if you use the other files, you don't need the DIM ones- the DIM have those other files. Go one way or the other. I'm assuming you watched the video about the DIM so let me quickly share some other file information.

First, you don't need Legacy files unless your version of the studio is prior to 4.5
Right, if things are marked PS or Poser you don't need them if there is a DS counterpart. However, many products use Poser files as the main file- so if you don't have DS files you DO use the Poser ones.

Also if you are a PC user, you use the .exe files. MAC users use the .zip files. (PC users grab the zip files IF THERE IS NOT A CHOICE TO USE .exe)

I don't have the Griffin product.

If you are confused about files, using the install manager would be easier for you.
One other thing- DO NOT HAVE THE STUDIO OPEN WHEN YOU ARE INSTALLING FILES. It's best to have it closed. If you did, shut it down and reopen it. You can also reimport the metadata (IF the product has it, that will help) But as a habit, keep the studio closed when you are bringing in new files.

EDIT: Based on what you posted:
" i downloaded Griffin wings 1.0 trx.exe DS, Griffin wings DS DIM, and Griffin Lord 1.0 trx.exe DS and Griffin Lord DS DIM"

You would manually install 1.0 trx exe DS (the wings and the Lord) but not the DIMs.

The Install Manager is not going away (in fact a new updated version of it was just released). It's the individual .exe installers that are going away. From now on, the choice will be to manually download and install the DIM-compatible .zip files, or to use the Install Manager to download and install them for you.
