Daz Studio creates icon files!
1) On one of my PCs Daz Studio was taking along time to load. 2) On this PC also my Daz Studio output directory where I keep my renders kept getting icon-png files. I deleted these because when you are editing your pictures you dont want the directory clogged up with poor quality icon files. At first I thought aspect 2) was due to my image software so I uninstalled and reinstalled this to no effect. What was happening was that when I loaded Daz Studio it would recreate the hundreds of icon_png files and could not complete the interface loading phase until this was complete. So what I did was go to the Daz Studio Renders output directory definition and remove the output directory from the listing. Next time I loaded Daz Studio even without the icon-png files and Daz Studio would then load quickly. So I found my own solution but I'm curious as to why Daz Studio does this? I can only guess that as Daz Studio likes to read icon files for the products we buy maybe it thinks the output jpegs are part of this although there is no connection between 'My Library' and where the pictures are stored. Strangely I've only noticed this on one of 5 PCs and the others dont behave like this.

DS creates icons for images in the render libraries so that they can be displayed in the render Library pane. The fix is, as you have found, to point the only Render Library to a folder that isn't used for images and then in the Render Window click the icon next to the library name at the bottom and select folder isntead, then save to a location outside the render library.
Thanks for the confirmation. It was exasperating when I didn't know what was happening.
Yeah, back in the day I made the mistake of puttin my desktop as render library.....
Thanks for posting this - I have this issue and it was driving me mad, I thought it was a Windows issue! Any images on my desktop kept getting these pointless icon files, and I kept deleting them but it was like whack-a-mole.
So where do I change the path? Is it Render Settings>General>Image Path? I currently have that set to desktop because that is my workspace, I like whatever I am working on to go there, then file it if I am going to keep it. If that's the right place to change the setting, should I just point it at some random folder on my PC? Does that mean it will save crud to that folder? Will I still be able to save the renders to my desktop (without getting all the icon files)? Thanks!
