Rendering eyes

I am in the middle of a render, which is at about 700 iterations right now. The image has been looking very good for a while now, except for the girl's eyes which are really grainy and not getting much better. The boy's eyes are fine and is all else in the scene, and I do not usually have this eye issue... but I can't figure out why its popping up now and how to fix it.  Screen shot attached. ideas?

Its the surfaces of the eyes, hers will look a lot better- more realistic than his they should have reflections etc to them his look a bit flat.

Yes eyes can take a long time to render, what I tend to do is render the whole scene the spot render (to a new window) the eyes that way they  clear up quicker and then composite the 2 renders in photshop or whatever.

  • Scorpio - THANK YOU.  First, it's good to know that I am not doing anything wrong, and its just quality.  Second, i love you spot render idea - can you tell me HOW that is done?  Do i just hide the opacity of everything but the eyes?

    To spot render.

Select the spot render tool and in the Spot render tool tab (can be found in windows>Panes(tabs)> Tool Settings tab) tick the New Window selection.

You can now drag a box around the area you want in the viewpoint and then DS will render only that area, you can save this render by using the bottom of the render window to save it where you want. Make sure you use the same camera and angle etc that you did for the main render.

Glad I saw this! I didn't know you could spot render in a seperate window. Thanks Scorpio!
