    Yes:

    a) fit M4 to Genesis, fit Genesis to Genesis 2 Male, fit Genesis 2 Male to Genesis 3 Male, fit Genesis 3 Male to Genesis 8 Male.

    b) Save as Wearable Preset or save as Prop/Morph Preset.

I think that is all you need to do.

Coming soon, the one step version (fit M4 clothes directly to G8):

    a) fit M4 to Genesis, fit Genesis to Genesis 2 Male, fit Genesis 2 Male to Genesis 3 Male, fit Genesis 3 Male to Genesis 8 Male.

No need to do that many steps as G8 has a clone for Genesis, so M4 => G1 and then G1 => G8M would work.

Does this work the other way around, so you could get a genesis 8 outfit to fit genesis 1 or M4?

OK, true. Thanks. And if the fit is not nice then do all the steps as a second try for better fits. You could also save as wearable preset or morph/prop along each step of the way if you use prior generations of DAZ models frequently.

There are no clones available to go back from G8 to previous figures right now. However SickleYields method to fit G3 items to G8 by changing the compatibility base might work in the other way, and there are clones in the store to go back from G3 to G2 or G1. Or you could try creating your own clones (there are tutorials for that in the forum).

Going back to M4 via autofit is not possible, M4 is not a weightmapped figure so he doesn't have autofit capabilities. But there's a program from Evilinnocence called CrossDresser which can convert items from G1 to various figures including M4 (program itself is free, you need to purchase a license for the target figure), so if you manage to convert your G8 item back to G1 you could use that to convert it to M4 afterwards.

Then you'll need to to the generation by generation...but as that may fail to to save time...

you could do the same fit again but adjust the G8M's arms Right & Left Shoulder Bend: Bend parameter +45 and -45 degrees so the hands go higher up and then fit the clothing. Adjust the Right & Left Thing Sideways (Sidewards?) +6 and -6 degrees (feet should go towards the center closer together)

When I tried fitting Genesis to G2male the process started then my computer froze both times I attempted it. Any way to get past this or are there simply too many calculations for my computer to handle?

Looking at the pic more closely it looks like you fitted the Genesis character to G3? What we meant was that you neet to fit to G3 the new version of the clothes you just converted to G1.

Actually with existing shapes in the Daz store, you can simply fit to Genesis 3 from M4, then fit those to G8.

    Actually, more products like this

    https://www.daz3d.com/victoria-4-for-genesis-2-female

to bring Michael 4 shape and materials ahead to further generations wouldn't be bad!
