I am interested in purchasing genesis characters from the daz store. are these all royalty free? Can I use them in my own "TV" show to be broadcast on the internet and public TV?

Thanks for any info

    yes

    any 2D render ok
(or 3D as in the popular term for stereoscopsy not flash embedding of actual mesh)
the models themselves, actual vertex mesh, continue to belong to Daz, what you pay for is the right to produce art as in images and videos rendered with them.
you can make commercials with them, Birthday cards, calendars . . .
    whatever takes your fancy %-P

    hey wendy

thanks for the reply. so just to confirm. I can make videos for paying clients or a tv show and there will be no copyright issues with daz or the author of the characters and they (character author) cannot make and legal or financial claims on me or my show?

    Thanks!

Hi boiledcandyfrog. So long as you're using rendered images, you're fine using them for your TV show. It's only when you sell/give away the model themselves that you encounter problems.

sorry to hassle you guys with all these questions but i have a couple more. I am interested in purchasing a bunch of toon characters from the 3D universe vendor. do these characters come with a "full set" of toon like animations and motions? I had a look at the animation section in the shop but there doesnt seem to be a toon section? Is this right?

I am very interested in using daz to make my own kids educational "toon" show. Please realise, although I love the potential and flexibility of 3D I hate time consuming keyframing and creating animations from scratch. I would rather pay for it. and what happens if i try to use animations for one set of characters for another set? will that work? is it all interchangeable?

    thanks !

In the respective item´s page in the store look at the tab "What's Included & Features". If aniblocks are listed, then they are included, if not, then they aren´t. I don´t know which of 3D Universe´s toons you want to use, but I don´t think they have any aniblocks included in them.

About aniblocks being interchangeable between figures, I don´t know, since I don´t do any animations. I guess aniblocks for say Victoria 4 could be used on Genesis, at least to some extent. But if you wan´t to use some of 3D Universe´s standalone custom figures like Monkey Business or other toon animals, then I don´t think they could take Vicky´s or Mike´s aniblocks.

Animations for all characters are easy to do in Puppiteer if DS4.6 still has it...
