Daz3d to Maya weighting transfer

I'll just get right to it. I recently exported a daz3d fbx to Maya full smooth weight. And I exported the same Daz3D model as an Obj. I intend to right the obj model with a custom rig. I was wondering if it's pos6to copy the Daz3D fbx Fully weighted to the obj? As we all know how weighting a mechanic can be pain!!

Why do you need the OBJ version at all?
Sorry, I missed youre ply - I meant why not just apply SubD in Maya, as it is in DS?
